Look at the bright side, you could be in real trouble if you worked at some place like the USMA at West Point!

Have a wonderful Friday evening my friend.

MM how about a military fence, it goes straight up, and then about 4 or 6 strands of barb wires faced toward the middle of the yard or even plain wire,(at about a 45 degree angle) she can't grab hold of. Oneida, help me out, please, I've forgotten the name. It is very effective. She won't climb this kind of fence. Have you thought of a low voltage electric fence? It may be called a "stockade" fence. We use one with the goats, the first wire is low votage, the second is a tiny bit more powerful, they do no escape. This kind of fence does not harm the animal, and keeps them in check.

Like FIRE ANTS, KILLER BEES, KUTZOO, MELALUKA TREES, WATER HYATHANS,(sp) NUTRIA and all of the rest of junk of the world our intellectuals have brought in. I know what you mean gulfcoast. We are truly a country of the world.

Oh ladies of grand fence schemes, we here who are putting our daughter through college must consider THE COST!! LOL!
I KNOW what would work (barbed wire, electic fences, mine fields, etc.) but my problem is a solution that doesn't involve massive cash outlays! We have to pay for college tuition and a trip to Europe for my daughter.
Tomorrow, I am going to the pet store to buy a stake and a CHOKE COLLAR!
I have never wanted to use a choke collar, but this dog is going to get killed, or cause someone else to be killed, if I do not get her under control. And I do not want to have to put her down. I couldn't live with that, let me tell you. SO, I am getting a choke collar for control while walking her, and the stake is to attach to a chain while she is in the backyard. She won't like it much, but I really have no alternative right now.
To: Miss Marple
Just make sure you get a good long stake, along with a CHAIN not the wire doo hicky things...and a good choke colar. Our dogs,(although much smaller than Cassie no doubt) have always been chained in the yard.

Yep. Those wire things are no good. I had a good stake (corkscrew variety...about 2 feet deep) but Mr. Marple cut it down with the lawn mower last year (yet another reason why I am using a mowing service).
I just want to chain her while she goes to the bathroom. Tonight I rigged her leash like a noose and tied her to my giant Alba rose bush and left her. She finally went to the bathroom, which I had been trying all day without success to get her to do.
Mr. Marple thinks he can fix the area of the fence she favors with more posts, so there would be no climbing possible.
Some free dog, huh?
To: Miss Marple
Some free dog, huh?LOL I can relate, trust me. When we got Minnie (from the pound, cost me $30 total), it was obvious she was a stray because she would always try to run away. One time, when Chaos was in pre-school and my Mom went to put her on the bus, Minnie ran out the door and charged down the street. Holding Chaos' hand, my mother wasn't sure whether to run after her, or stay with Chaos...eventually, she came back, as she knew she got fed very well.
Alas, the poor thing is over 13 yrs old now and couldn't run to the mail box if she tried.

I'll be starting the thread in the morning....so make sure you have had enough coffee and are sufficiently awake before venturing over to take a lookie peekie.
I'll TRY to be on my best behavior and not do like Laz did and post a bunch of half neked women dancing around.

Just checking in momentarily to say hi. We are watching the Texas-Washington game, and boy, are the ESPN announcers biased towards Texas. I thought they were supposed to be neutral. Anyway, it looks as if FR came back OK with the transfer to the new server. I'll check back in tomorrow again. Talk to you all later...
