Think of how many fewer cases there would be be clogging up the appellate courts if bleeding hearts weren't trying to saving baby-killers from the "evils" of the American Justice system.

Uh, they're not called 'baby killers' they're called 'abortionists' and they're not in jail because their particular brand of serial murder is legal.

Shalom.

A "Religious Christian" is an emotionally, and therefore spiritually, immature Christian.

Man, what did they put in your Wheaties this morning?

That was some diatribe you posted.

I recommend you find a copy of the book "In His Steps" and read it.

Sure, there are Christians who don't act Christ-like. They're sinners just like you and me. But the W.W.J.D. has nothing to do with politics or legalism. It just started out as a bracelet to remind the wearer (the wearer, nobody else) to keep the Main Thing the Main Thing.

If it makes you feel guilty, you might ask yourself why.

And have something for lunch that isn't so hard on your stomache.

Ping to everyone else on the list for an interesting thread.

Shalom.

"Isn't it funny how George Bush says his heart was opened up to Jesus, yet he had so many people executed in Texas?"

Interesting, since when can a governor have people executed? You sir/madam, are an idiot.

She (he? it? you can never be sure in San Francisco) totally lost me at the quoting Ghandi paragraph. I don't see Jesus the Christ quoting a man who now burns in hell.

Also the bible states that God uses the rulers of this world to execute his judgements on men. Face it Steph, GWB is one of the rulers of the world and a whole lot of judgment is being executed on evil doers. (This also applies to the people rightfully executed in Texas under GWB's governership)

God Save America (Please)

Jesus was put to death for being the Messiah. GW didn't put anyone to death personally, but the ones that were state executed were guilty of capital crimes. That is a big difference.

There should be more executions, the prisons are full of violent men, with no redeeming value. Rapists, child molesters and all purposeful murderers should get a trial, a quick review by the supreme court(within a month), and terminated. Why we pay to house and feed animals that are beyond redemption, is beyond me, and counterproductive.

I am starting to think we should execute drug dealers, not the ones selling a little pot, or hash even, but the ones manufacturing meth, and dealing death with heroin-cocaine etc. It has worked in the Peoples Republic of China, it will work here.

My pastor says if you have to stop to ask what would Jesus do ,you need to spend more time in His word:>)

Sorry ArGee I see this as a gimmic to make some money

Salvation is a gift from God,scripture says that when you are born again you are a "new creation". our wills are directed to Him,a braclet isn't what changes our behavior..it is His grace:>)

Merry Christmas

Jesus also said he came not to bring peace, but a sword. Bad point Rooper.

Per all Bible scholars the " sword" is a symbol of his word, not a physical sword. HE has a two edged sword, (meaning his word )will cut to the soul of mankind.

When Peter went to cut off the ear of the Roman soldiers in the garden of Gesthemanie with a sword, Jesus rebuked Peter and said " if you live by the sword you will die by the sword".

According to the Roman Empire, what Jesus was doing was a capital offense

Wrong, the man trying him said outright, that this man(referring to Jesus)has done no wrong, and was to set him free, but his own people, the Jews themselves (the self proclaimed leaders, the Sanhedrin), rejected him, and pronounced him guilty. They were even given a chance to free him as was the tradition of the time (Passover), but instead chose for the Roman governor to free a man guilty of murder and sedition against the empire, over the Saviour.

Yes, it's pretty infuriating to have a bunch of atheist throw that phrase around as if they had a clue what Jesus would do.

Last week on Politically Incorrect, Bill Mahar demanded that we throw money at the third world, if not out of compassion then out of fear. He went on to demand that we sit in the dark if neccessary to conserve oil and make ourselves less dependent on Arab oil. For the topper he threw in "What Would Jesus Do?", the appreciative audience just about elected him president on the spot, it was very humorus.

Ohhh. I see.

You mean they're actually prosecuting her for those late-term abortions she had?

What is the world coming to.

I thought George Tiller was hiring her as a consultant.

Sorry ArGee I see this as a gimmic to make some money

Sometimes I see all Christian bookstores as a gimmick to make some money. But I'm not always so cynical.

I read how the WWJD thing got started. Naturally, somebody decided to run with it and make some money. But it really was just a reminder.

And I would agree with your Pastor if I were sinless. But, wretch that I am, I need a reminder of who I am now and then.

Shalom.

Those of us here in Texas (a great majority at least) are disgusted by Andrea Yates and her horrific crimes. I don't want her to be executed- I want her released into the general population of Mt. View State Prison.

I do not think my Pastor would claim to be "sinless" but scripture says to hide His word in your heart...for just such occassions *grin*

Well, I lived in Houston until the middle of this year, and I must say I agree with you. I also agree that abortionists should be in jail, not practicing "medicine." Don't let the sarcasm fool you.

Shalom.

Not to start something, but I am curious.

I believe that we are to study Scripture and bend our will to do everything that Jesus commanded us to do.

I don't believe this is for salvation. I understand that I am a new creation in Christ. I could not have made myself an adopted Son of G-d by my will nor would I be capable of responding to G-d's call if it were not for His amazing grace.

But I do believe that study is the highest form of worship. And I do believe that we are called to do the word, not just study it. And I do believe that these are all acts of our will.

Are you and I on different pages?

Shalom.

I do not know arGee..we may have some doctrinal differences..but we both love the Lord and seek to do His will :>)

I tell my kids and grandkids all the time.."Garbage in garbage out"

That is why I believe we are to fill ourselves with his word. With his grace that word conforms us to His character:>)I am not much of a "gimmic" person...and thats what WWJD feels like to me..

Maybe you should read the bible before comming off as ignorant.

Romans 13:3 "For rulers are not a terror unto good works, but to the evil. Whilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same.

For he is the minister of God unto thee for good, but if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bearth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath on him that doeth evil."

So as you see, when Bush was govenor of Texas, obeying the laws of Texas, he was even then a minister of God. It is better to get a little knowledge of God before you dare to speak for him.

Sorry... couldn't resist: Bologna replied to Sandwich! Ha Ha

Seriously, when I first read this article on the Drudge Report, I was furious, appalled, beside myself! Without getting into the specifics of the article, the spirit of it was blasphemous in itself. This was written in a newspaper? This is reporting? San Francisco... hang your head in shame.
