Isn't it funny how George Bush says his heart was opened up to Jesus, yet he had so many people executed in Texas? What Texas and what George W. Bush are you talking about? Texas laws are made by our representatives and the governor has no more power to execute people than I do.
You show your ignorance and prejudice.
To: Rooper
Now is a good time for you to listen and learn so you don't parrot incorrect information. Courts execute people in Texas, not the Governor. All the Governor can do is postpone them for a short period of time.

Too bad Ms. Salter wasn't quoting scrpiture when the Clintons were in the White House. Would Jesus steal or commit adultery??
To: Rooper
According to the Roman Empire, what Jesus was doing was a capital offence.Wrong. John 18:39-9.

I've spent the last few minutes reviewing your posting history since your arrival here December 11,2001.It is one thing to be here on a conservative news forum and happen to be anti-death penalty. It is quite another thing to be here as a Bush-basher and disruptor. You should really find another place more accepting of your spew.

"
Are you a jackass or just not used to a different opinion?"
Jackasses aren't aware that uninformed, ignorant opinions don't carry equal weight with informed, learned opinions.
How embarrassing for you that you've pinned the tail on the wrong jackass.

Christ was a dissenter, that was his crime.True ,that was what he was .Worst true crime he guilty of was whipping those folks at the temple while calling them "moneychangers."
I have a few pet-peeves with capital punishment .It takes a fortune in lawyer fees to actually execute someone. You would come out cheaper by feeding the convicts till they die. There is discrimination in the way capital punishment is applied.I could go on.

My four-letter answer is written, over and over, in the Bible, but it has been ignored by potentates, peons and sometimes popes for 2,000 years. ...I don't think God makes peons

No, you are wrong. Read the Bible again. Pilate said to the Jewish leaders that this man has done no wrong but the crowd called out for his execution. Jesus was put to death by a weak-willed Roman ruler who put to death one man to appease the rabble and not cause waves in a remote area of the Roman empire.

merely that people should not say they emulate Christ when they clearly do not. You are being awfully judgmental.

The Bible says...submit to your authorites....in other words, if you commit a crime that is viewed by your authorities to be punishable by death, death it should be. Jesus even said to Pilate: You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above.(John 19:11)He said this even though he knew he was going to be executed..even though in His case he was completely innocent. He could of pleaded His case, but he said nothing..contrast that to the sinners of today that ARE guilty...they beg for their misurable lives even though they are guilty as sin of taking others lives. And guess who Jesus did this for??....YOU, as well as me.....maybe we both should just shut up and just give Him thanks.....
