In sharp contrast to these "official" inquiries, investigative reporting by Robert Stinnett and others has revealed that the U.S. succeeded in breaking Japanese military codes well before December 7, 1941; U.S. officials knew a Japanese strike force was at sea in early December, and several U.S. radio direction finding stations pinpointed Japanese radio transmissions from the carrier force as it approached Hawaii. Beyond that, Stinnett uncovered a memo (from the naval intelligence officer that controlled communications intelligence messages flowing to FDR) that outlined a U.S. "strategy" of inviting a Japanese attack, as a way of securing America's entry into WWII. The memo, prepared by Navy Lt Cmdr Authur McCollum, was written more than a year before Pearl Harbor.
I mention these facts because they've never been a part of any official Pearl Harbor inquiry. If you want a "whitewash" of 9-11, support some sort of Congressional hearings or a blueribbon panel. I have little faith in them getting to the bottom of who's to blame...
I'm afraid you speak the absolute truth. The vital question is......what can we here at FR and other patriotic Americans do to bring the real truth to light? I personally don't want to sit by and witness another "whitewash" investigation. I firmly believe attitudes have changed in America since 9/11 - of course the D.C. crowd doesn't realize this yet - and the vast majority will not tolerate any more BS from D.C. I plan to call, write, scream - whatever to get their attention - that we want the truth - not more political BS.
