Have you seen any reports regarding the Japs leaving the crew adrift after sinking th ship ?

Initial reports posted here yesterday seemed to say the Jap patrol boat let them drown before attempting to fish them out of the drink because they saw what looked like "pipes" that could have been guns in the hands of the swimmers in life jackets.

I heard a report that the reason they did not send swimmers into the water was fear that the NKs may have strapped explosives on their bodies. But I am not sure about that.

I was sort of shocked to learn that approximately 14 people jumped into the sea. It is hard to believe that all of them were dedicated enough to be suicidal.
