I heard a report that the reason they did not send swimmers into the water was fear that the NKs may have strapped explosives on their bodies. But I am not sure about that.

I was sort of shocked to learn that approximately 14 people jumped into the sea. It is hard to believe that all of them were dedicated enough to be suicidal.

It shows the power of NK brainwashing. They were probably trained for that from the time of conscription. Additionally, they were no doubt fed all sorts of stories about the torture techniques of the Japanese from WWII.
