What the Vatican cares or doesn't care about should not impact the decisions of the leaders of Israel regarding fundamental issues such as right and wrong. Muslims desecrate the holy places of other religions whether they be Jewish, Christian, or Hindu. The desecration needs to be stopped. It's the right thing to do and that's the bottom line. Concur, Israel cannot trust the Vatican to do what is right and must do what is right despite the deception of the Gentiles.

Maybe because Israel's Biblical importance in the eyes of most of the world {except for a few "end times" fundamentalists} is nil. But the world does not follow the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You have forsaken him for other religions or no religion at all. Therefore Israel is hated in the eyes of most of the world {except for a few }. You, like Pharaoh before you, have challenged the living God.

Isn't this how it was meant to be?It depends on whom you serve. I find no inheritance for Islam in the Scriptures.

Amen!
Tonight I shall try to follow this holy man's example and pray for those who carry such vengeance and bitterness in their hearts.
Merry Christmas!

The church knew about it supported it and could have stopped it. Phillip II was slavishly obedient to the Pope as were most of the Hapsburgs( the exception being Charles V who promoted Catholicism because he controlled the Pope).

Israel cannot trust the Vatican to do what is right and must do what is right despite the deception of the Gentiles. The Vatican is doing what they think is right from their perspective. And, while Israel is supposed to do the right thing, very often they don't. For example, not stopping the desecration of the Christian religious site. Finally, with all due respect, using terms like "the deception of the Gentiles", slams the entire non-Jewish population. What possible purpose could you have for using such a phrase?

>The inquisition itself didn't kill that many but the Catholic Hapsburg forces killed huge numbers both in the the Spanish Colonies and in Europe.
Isn't that like saying "the gunman didn't kill that many, but the gun killed huge numbers"?
To: skraeling
No because the church collaborated they wanted all non catholics dead.

I agree. I'm sure the Vatican recognizes many regiems that do not meet these so called rules. Rules that are prolly bent all the time for such and such reason.
Vatican prolly recognizes Iraq. I'll see if I can find out.

Maybe Israel will let Arafat go to Janet Reno's bowling party, though.

What an odd but interesting post. Could it be? Could it be? Something malevolent is behind the scenes somewhere pulling the strings.
