There are many songs from the mid-1970s that stick in my head even though I haven't heard them on the radio in decades. The mid-1970s must have been a very sticky era:

"The Night Chicago Died"
"Billy, Don't Be A Hero"

And who can forget the song "Convoy" ("Breaker 1-9, this here's the duck"). The lyrics to that song will be ingrained in my head forever. There, I think I've done enough damage on this thread already. Got a copy on you Big Ben, this here's the Duck, bye-bye.

Since you brought it up by mentioning "Convoy," my favorite clip from that is about the hog truck. "Why don't you back off about five miles or so / Them hogs are gettin' INtense."

"The Telephone Man" from 1977.

"He hung it in the bathroom,
He hung it on the wall,..."
etc. etc. etc. Forgot all about till I heard an Armstrong & Getty rerun on the radio this morning. Argh!!
