some interesting stuff. But just a quick rhetorical question here:
What if everybody on FR posted the way you do, with massive text and slow loading HTML? We'd be dead in the water.

December 19, 1998: first elected president impeached for subverting the administration of justice.
December 19, 2001: The " dangerous, self-absorbed sicko... a delusional if opportunistic narcissist... " meets with his aides to devise ways to enhance his influence in politics.
Not one article mentioned the timing of the meeting.
Nice summary BTW!

. "We concluded that the Clinton hard core were not on message, and we had to develop a center of gravity. We have to remind people of what we did on the economy, what we did with the crime bill, what we did with terrorism." No we don't have to be reminded, we are WELL AWARE of what Clinton 'did'.

Clinton Contaiment TeamA far better "Clinton Contaiment" tactic, would have been if Mr. Blyth had worn a condom, while romancing the sleaze's mother.

He seems to be awfully concerned about what other people remember about what he did considering he can't seem to remember diddly squat himself.

I have to agree with American in Toyko. It's just too much of the same thing EVERY time. Your stuff is good in small doses, so why do you have to repeat the same thing ALL of the time?

And they said that while he expressed concern that he was being blamed for not catching Osama bin Laden, most of the discussion was about how to raise his profile and press his case on domestic matters. I remember Rush saying ,at the beginning of the col. klink adminstration, that foreign policy would be klink's downfall. Late in coming, but it is coming.
"It's important that the president's legacy not be squandered because his own people remain silent and scattered,"
Are these people still on his (read OUR) payroll?
Others also acknowledged that they were worried that Mr. Clinton could be portrayed as preoccupied with his reputation and not conducting himself appropriately for a former president.
DUH !!
Mr. Clinton's advisers said part of the discussion was over how active the former president should be in stumping for Democratic candidates next year.
This statement tells it all. If he was popular they would be begging him to stump . The candidates have concluded he is baggage.
He is a legend only in his own mind.

Thanks, Mia T. For lack of time, I find myself skipping over large parts of your lengthy posts. The 'links' are the better approach, IMHO. Not a big deal with me, just a comment. Love your work and appreciate your efforts. As I don't know the holiday greeting you prefer, I will convey my good wishes by the greeting I prefer. Merry Christmas.
"Several participants at the meeting in Mr. Clinton's Harlem office said in interviews that they had agreed to compile a list of the Clinton administration's achievements that his supporters could have handy when defending the president."
The Clinton Achievement---
Perpetuation of 'THE BIG LIE' for another 8 years beyond the Arkansas governor's mansion.
The Clinton Goal---
Perpetuation of 'THE BIG LIE' through Hillary for another 8 years of Marxist/socialist liberalism to essentially end the 'Greatest Nation on God's green earth'.
Bring back the 'American democrats', but not the socialist/communist masqueraders of same.

"Mr. Richardson, for one, said it was appropriate for Mr. Clinton to have a more public role." "I'm pleased that the president will be more active in ensuring his legacy," he said."

From LA Times by Mr. MANSOOR IJAZ:
"Clinton's failure to grasp the opportunity to unravel increasingly organized extremists, coupled with Berger's assessments of their potential to directly threaten the U.S., represents one of the most serious foreign policy failures in American history." Let's not forget how much the Dems moaned and complained about Bush's lack of foreign policy experience and whether he was up for the job, while their HERO commits "one of the most serious foreign policy failures in American history."

"utter failure...utter failure"....nice ring to it.
But what's soooooooooooooooooo utterly maddening...the media goobers have these 'containment team' spinners on and act as if what they say about Clinton is legit. Last night on CNN, Paul Begala is spinning like a top, and the anchor lets him go on and on....doesn't challenge him, makes no mention of the obvious whoppers Begala is spitting out.
I flipped channels...I refuse to scream obscenities at the television so close to Christmas.
Begala is so disingenuous!! He said he wasn't at the meeting...DUH...like we won't figure out he was in on the conference call, on the fax list, and helps Clinton dream up all this crap.
Begala, I remember, was so proud of the crucifix he got from Pope Paul when he came to the US...maybe he thinks it absolves him of punishment for a career built on deception.
