In regards to Hanengraaff, have you ever noticed that he has nothing good to say about anyone??
Heretic hunters. Reminds me of a lady on our street when I was a teenager. She would peek through her blinds to watch all the kids come home from their dates on Friday night... then call their parents on Saturday morning to report the time they came home, who they were with... if they kissed or not, etc. Her own kids were the worst....but of course...she was blind to that.
Not so strange. The scriptures say study to show thyself approved, and, yes, one must refer to the Word of God always. Paul says the Scripture is "profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness . . ." (II Tim. 3:16). If Scripture is to be used for teaching, someone's got to teach. That someone may be the Holy Spirit, but Paul doesn't limit the teacher to the Holy Spirit. There are many whom God has blessed with an understanding of His Word and from whom we may also learn: C.S. Lewis, Spurgeon, and Watchman Nee, for example. Then there's people who have access to an understanding that many could never acquire on their own. I think of Zola Levitt, a born again Jew, who, because of his Jewish background, has an understanding of the Hebrew text and culture that would take my a lifetime to ever understand by myself.
There is nothing wrong, especially on threads such as this, that we quote individuals whom we respect and believe has a sound understanding of the Bible, take those words away with us and then search and study, while alone, and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to us concerning what we have read. Otherwise, my opinion, while it may be in my mind the "right" opinion because I believe the "Holy Spirit convicted me" that it's true, may be no better than someone's contrary opinion, who also believes that the "Holy Spirit convicted them" of the contrary opinion. Sometimes, one's conviction that the Holy Spirit spoke to them may simply be their own spirit telling them so.
You noticed that too huh? I spent a while in there last night looking up names like James Dobson yes even he is not up to Hanks standards. But then again that's Hanks web site and Hank himself seems to be a pusher of his own opinions and teachings as to how the scriptures should read. It seems Billy Graham missed his mark as well when Graham mentioned T.D. Jakes as being a person possibly drawing the masses to the Gospel as Graham is able to do. This seems to be more of a gossip site a Christian National Inquirer type thing than anything else.
Another so called document or publication was down right disgusting in it's rating of the Catholic Church. It came to the point of almost calling it a cult. The articles in various documents were attacking preachers for their views on the Jewish Abrahamic Covenant, the idea of pretribulation rapture, and other such articles were there as well. Pretribulation rapture to those of us who do believe it can be supported by scripture and understanding of such things as Hebrew customs. God called out Noah before judgement on the world. GOD called Israel out of Egypt before judging it, GOD called out Lott and his familly though a rascle Lott was. The first blast of the wedding trumpet has been sounded the announcement of the engagement. The second is to come when the father says the place prepared by the groom is sufficent. That is where no one knows what time Christ returns no one but the father knows. Only a Hebrew father of the groom could say Son bring home your bride you have made ready the place. That is whn the second trumpet occurs.
Now we can pretty well know when Christ is coming after the agreement the 7 year agreement is made in Israel with the Anti-Christ those days even in the Bible are said to be taken literal. No one who is left here will realize when Christ is coming back to earth because they rejected him and his word. The believers the way I read will be gone. Yes some will come through the tribulation. Calling out of GOD's people before judgements is well established in the Bible.
That is my belief. But I also understand it could be in any other order in the middle of the tribulation perhaps. But as the Hebrew Children so stated Our GOD can deliver us from the furnace. But even if we are to suffer it is better to do so than deny GOD.
The original poster of this thread asked for information about Joyce Meyer. I've watched Meyer a few times and felt she was offering psycho-babble rather than solid biblical teaching from the word of God. I posted CRI's comments because they seemed to deal with details. The words speak for themselves.
I've heard and witnessed Hank from CRI and your assumption of him not saying anything nice about anyone is absolutely wrong.
Perhaps you should remove the branch from your own eye before pointing out the spec in someone elses. You have insulted me and my faith and my intentions.
