NOT THAT IT MATTERS a whit to us here in the cool, gray city of love what Frank Lindh, daddy of the Taliban warrior from Marin, does, did or dreams of doing with other consenting adults, but shouldn't he come clean with us about all the facts in the odd odyssey of his son?
Frank Lindh has been quoted time and again as saying it was his son John's reading of the "Autobiography of Malcolm X" when John was 16 in 1997 that turned his son's head and heart towards Islam. But something else then going on in the family's life may be have been just as pertinent.
When Frank Lindh left his family in 1997, it was to move in with a male companion. Yep. ... The man with whom Lindh lived has since been described as "a family friend," but other family friends say the men lived as a gay couple.
It would take a specialist in family issues to map the constellations of feelings and problems that would describe John Walker's path toward Islam in 1997, but sources close to the family say the father's turn of life from married man to modern gay man startled and flustered the 16-year-old.
Given the pummeling that the Walkers and marvy Marin County have taken from the national press over their wayward son, you can't blame the old man for wanting to suppress reporting on his sexuality. ...

Also, if little Johnny Jihad had announced, at age 16, that he wanted to go study the Bible at Baylor or Liberty Baptist, do you think his Left Coast Californicating daddy would have paid his way?And if he had his son would have life ahead of him

But Exodus tells them that having children will cure them. No, Exodus tells us that homosexual sex is forbidden.

Maybe daddy Walker can give Johnny a few tips on how to become popular on the cellblock.

But the other six million plus kids in lesbian and gay households seem to cope pretty well. Who gave you that figure? How do you know HOW they cope? It's pretty sad, IMO, that parents could care less about their children's well being. You don't think that having your father live with another man or your mother live with another woman would harm a child (especially a TEENAGE child)? Sure, take a look at Rosie's "family". Very AVERAGE AND NORMAL aren't they?

I think that you're right, dead...it is not a matter of morality...whether homosexuality is right or wrong...it is a matter of creating and maintaining a stable home life for kids...adolescence is a time of intense sexual insecurity for most kids...not only did Daddy reject Mommy but Daddy starting boinking and getting boinked in return by another man and apparently didn't keep his private life very private...not very easy to handle for any kid but imagine being stuck in PC World California and being full of rage...it's enough to make one want to become a fundamentalist a/k/a religious fanatic a/k/a homophobe...just listen to this poor wretch Walker on TV...he can't even talk normally anymore...he's like one of those Haile Bopp (?) people but scarier...everyone is so eager to punish this kid...my guess is that he's a suicide waiting to happen.

What is this picture you are posting on every thread, and what is the point? Does it make a statement about homosexuals? About physical looks? Are you saying that you find these men unattractive? Are you saying that you judge men on physical beauty? What is your point? I realize you find these men funny looking. I find Phyllis Diller funny looking. So?
You find Phyllis Diller funny looking? Well that's the first time I've ever heard anyone say she's funny looking. ;-) Hey, speak of the old lady, here she is now!:
Here, friend - let me buy you a beer too!:
Happy Holidays, friend!

I will tell you so what. First, it appears that the press may have known this for quite some time and failed to report it. In fact, the emphasis on the "strict Irish Catholic" background of the father may have been an attempt to cover up his sexual preferences. Second, it definitely should give us all some insight into the young Walker's mind, and why he chose to pursue a life radically different than that of his parents.
In other words, the press has been lying to us, or at least all the stuff about his "Catholic" dad is a flat out lie.

Ping, because I contacted the National Enquirer on this issue, via email, and they just PHONED ME and are VERY INTERESTED!!!!! They've got people working on it!!! I emailed them DAYS ago when I had suspicions, and I don't want this story to die. Why? Because that father LIED and said it was because of a book! When we ALL KNOW why this Walker kid turned out so screwed up...!!
National Enquirer thought I *knew* something! LOL, I just said, no, just a good sleuth, and a person who loves gossip! Well have a good night all... :) I feel really happy about this, this is gonna be splashed on the front page soon...!

And his mother's a a self-styled Buddhist, right? Maybe Richard Gere could play the father in the movie.

No wonder the kid uses his mother's maiden name. I would be pretty disgusted with my father for that.

So we have a child raised without moral standards cause mom wants him to find himself. We have an uncloseted dad embarrassing his adolesant son. no boundries the child looks for a structure where someone cares about him..his folks send him off to get rid of him (now he knows no one wants or cares for him) He finds the structure in Islam....
Good story may just get him off with sympathy
I would just say he was no hurting child when he took arms against his nation. He still has no regrets..so he may do it again....he should NEVER be allowed out of a prison. He can get structure there!

He finds the structure in Islam.... Points to the psychological falsity of liberalism. A society is no mere collection of individuals.
