What-have-you. Agree, but after firing squads, there's not much "what-have-you" left. Maybe just a place for the implant.... </ cynicism>

Why not just have the UN tattoo our arms? I think ID microchips are more effective and reliable. ;-)

there will be no Free Republic. There's where you're wrong.
It's just that Free Republic will have been distilled down to a Newspeak Term O'the Day, "Day in the Life" pictures of the President with matching patriotic mpg's, daisy chains to keep the Guild busy and -- for the Real Men -- stinging debate among the likes of Sinkspur, Common Tator and Illbay on how best to rationalize the President's every move in light of the "spirit of" the Living Constitution.
The rash of articles concerning sex and scatalogical function will continue unabated. Uncle Sam likes to keep his hardworking, patriotic, and -- by all means -- moral minions "entertained".

I thought of this a few years ago for children. Too keep track of kidnapping's. You could find them anywhere like a gps. I dismissed it for fear of big brother.

You mean that's different than it is now?

Actually you could prevent abortion this way by implanting the chips invitro and monitor the vital signs of the baby.

What's to keep industrious people from removing the chip and either reprograming or replacing it. This idea is ridiculous and has been BS'd to death.

I'll tell you, this kind of thinking is getting under my skin. Sunkist, are these chips resistant to citric acid??
Cheap joke. . .sorry! ;-)

Who is going to monitor all the brain chip transmissions? Who is going to allocate the frequencies required for this device. Who is going to pay for all the receiver sites. These things will have miniscule power out and they will require repeaters every 100 yards or so. Who will control the network? Logistically, this could not happen for many, many, many years.

It's basically just a problem of SCALE. For this to happen, those in charge will require computer power that was ONCE beyond our wildest dreams.
Just over two years ago, I bought the fastest computer I could get at the time, 300 Mhz. Now, they are selling 1.5 GIGA Hz (or higher) at Dell for less than half what I paid. The incredible number crunching power of the best supercomputers now being developed for the govt. could make this type of project possible not far down the road, IMO.

i'd say offhand those boys in the baby blue helmets had better be able to run 3200 f/s.

Arms? Pfffffff.....What's wrong with the forehead?????
To: sunkist2
Screw all this stupid computerized nonsense, only a weak minded fool thinks this is a good idea!
