It's just that Free Republic will have been distilled down to a Newspeak Term O'the Day, "Day in the Life" pictures of the President with matching patriotic mpg's, daisy chains to keep the Guild busy and -- for the Real Men -- stinging debate among the likes of Sinkspur, Common Tator and Illbay on how best to rationalize the President's every move in light of the "spirit of" the Living Constitution.

You mean that's different than it is now?

Not much ... unless you consider the departure of "America Haters" like you and me a particularly important difference.

I'm certain of one thing: it will be a much more peaceful and orderly place. Moderators may not even be necessary once everyone's thinking alike and all or nothing questions of Human Life, privacy, sovereignty of the individual, family and state are recognized as the rightful purview of the State's pleasure.

The upside (besides the State's stepping in to enforce the 1st Amendment rights of posters to post full-frontal nudity and bestiality if they please)?

Sinkspur, M. Thatcher, et al. will no longer be forced to resort to sinfully ugly smears, name-calling and other displays of rank vulgarity in lieu of showing the empty hand they hold where substantive debate or presentation of facts to buttress their opinions ought to be.

If you've ever read Doctor Rat, I guess you already know my worst fear. That the greatest risk we run is outing those for whom the dog's dreams and visions are more compelling than the Security, Prosperity, "Hopeful Technology", perfect physiques, eternal life and non-procreative -- largely homoerotic -- sex the Lab has to offer.
