No offence, but Muslims love Jesus as much as Christians do

Smoke, mirrors, and petty obfuscation.

Jesus Christ actually lived in history, was put to death on the cross, and rose from the tomb three days later to minister and instruct his disciples. That was the straightforward testimony of the brave and simple men who were his disciples, the testimony for which they were willing to die cruel deaths.

Islam denounces all of this as a vile heresy, condmens it as bald fiction, and calls for the death of any Muslim who would profess a belief in it.

Islam is antichrist.

I am glad to see that we are in total agreement on this.

You should see me point out the logical fallacies of Islam and Judaism.

"Hey, Ma. . . , Come quick! There's a guy who thinks the universe runs on logic!"

So, a speck of dust called a man, on a grain of sand called the earth, on an ovoid rock named The Milky Way, on an infinite beach termed The Universe, has taken it upon his own self to proclaim the logical fallacies of believing in anything beyond his understanding.

Kind of like an amoeba fancying itself the sum of all creation.

No - just ruling out the illogical and irrational. :)

There's no reason one can't be both a lunatic and a bad man either, of course.

Then do we agree, Bill Clinton is a lunatic?

Kind of like an amoeba fancying itself the sum of all creation.

"What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour." Psalm 8:4-5

There is a mystery there, that it you were to glimpse even the smallest portion of it, you would be overwhelmed beyond speech.

Seriously - we've gone in a mere 10,000 years from a non-writing Stone Age primitive to a species that has mapped the subatomic, measured the universe, inferred the quantum, launched interplanetary and interstellar probes, is planning intra-stellar colonization and is cracking the very genetic code of life itself.

Not too shabby, wouldn't you say?

I believe that every word that you and others have said about the Muslims was properly also said about the Arians. This is particularly true of their persecution of true Christians.

There was a late holdover of Arianism in Christianity. The Visigothic Arians had developed certain liturgical peculiarities, along with the theological heresies. When they converted to true Christianity a compromise was made for their liturgical ideas, which became the Gothic Rite of the Church. Many true Christians who had been persecuted by the Arians objected to this and would not accept the Gothic Rite.

Most Christians felt that this liturgical concession was a small price to pay to finally destroy the vile Arian heresy. After Spain was conquered by the Moslems at the end of the 7th century, it lacked the strength to maintain the seperate Gothic Rite, which eventually disappeared, which is why Spanish Christianity was essentially identical with the rest of Western Christianity.

I'm sorry, but I just don't get it. IMO, this is the biggest piece of propaganda I have read since 9/11.

Yes, it has the ring of Muslim PR. The headline that "Muslims love Jesus as much as Christians" is a slap in the face in and of itself.

In Dante's Inferno, the circle of hell in which the noble pagans took residence was lit by the light of their own reason. They were not particularly tormented (their existence pre-dated Christ), but their light only shone so far into the darkness.

None of us are as bright as we think we are.

You base your assessment of the value of reason on a work of fiction???

Fascinating.

"I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered."

And the adversary has been striving vigorously to destroy the flock ever since. Islam and Arianism were intended to displace genine Christian faith by offering or forcing acceptance of a counterfeit faith--one that would acknowldge the form of Jesus Christ while steadfastly denying the power. Because that power was made fully manifest in the resurrection, the resurrection had to be denied and denounced as vigorously and thoroughly as possible. Islamic rejection of the crucifixion and resurrection goes beyond ordinary rejection--it is a pathological rejection. And that pathology betrays the true nature and identity of the spirit that inspires it.

THere is only one Jesus. There is not a muslim one and a Christian one. While the baby in the manger is a pricelsess gift the real story is the crucifixion which they deny. Isn't that the point? Jesus cna't simply be a prophet. He never claimed that. He is either the son of God or a raving lunatic but not a prophet. people give Him that label so they don't have to deal with the reality and actually pick a side of the fence.

We're very good at amusing ourselves. I've a friend who holds about 35 different patents. He's an expert in the field of microprocessor technology and has invented items that allow our conversation via computer to take place as quickly as it does.

He's told me on a number of occasions that what we think of logic or illogic are in actuality human inventions. He claims that true logic is that which God wills. He also claims that he's relied on God's logic, not his own, when coming up with new ideas for inventions.

Dante's Inferno is nice, but hardly a guide to life.
