Sibel Can, an aging Turkish Model is getting ready for her fourth child.

Just to show you something you might not have expected.

Here's a link to the Milliyet daily newspaper. It's Turkish, but go ahead and enjoy the pictures.

"Howard Eisenstat, an instructor at Koc University in Istanbul, describes Turkey's anxiety this way: 'If you want us to democratize by giving rights to people who aren't truly democratic, what is the guarantee that these people are going to play by the rules?'..."

Well, sir... I was going to suggest adopting a Bill of Rights in the American fashion, but look how that ended up here in the 'States.

Better not use America as your example. Find your own way.

Good luck Turks.

Holy smokes Turkman! I went to the Milliyet link, on the right hand side is a piece mentioning Pink Floyd. I clicked it, then clicked it again on the next page, and I got a story with pics of the group and, what I believe, a review of the new compilation album "Echoes." Very cool, especially for a newspaper, or any site. Is Pink Floyd popular in Turkey?

BTW, here's an FR thread with critiques about the selection of the cuts for "Echoes."

New Pink Floyd release....Echoes of what?

an aging Turkish Model How old is a model that is not "aging?" Fifteen?

There must an ancient secret to why women in Turkey look so well. Winds from the Sea of Marmara?

I don't forget that the Turks were part of the international coalition that fought in the Korean War (on our side) I think that's what got them into NATO. They were very forceful in westernizing their society. Ataturk outlawed the fez and outlawed the Arabic alphabet and introduced the Roman alphabet, whether the Turks liked it or wanted it or not. His efforts have largely paid off, I think.

The Turks are pretty cool.

Hey, were you banned for a few days? I ask this because I tried to ping you on an article about Greece and I was told that there was "no current freeper by that name".

Quite. It used to be such a chore to get their stuff back in the 70s when nothing was imported..

Sure was! Broke down and told someone to go meet Kevorkian. Pissed off the Admin Moderator. Learned my lesson. From now on, the more I hate someone, the more I'll compliment them. I missed you guys terribly (and that I mean literally).
