Arafat: I'm willing to sacrifice 70 to die to kill one Israeli
Independent Media Review & Analysis ^ | Date: 18 December 2001 | Aaron Lerner

Israel Radio West Bank correspondent Avi Yissakharov reported this evening that Yasser Arafat declared in a fiery speech in Ramallah today that "all Palestinians are Muhammad al-Dura", that all Palestinians are martyrs. 12-year-old Muhammad al-Dura was killed in the Gaza Strip last year while his father tried to protect him from crossfire. Arafat called for all to join in the struggle to stop what he termed the Israeli program to Judaize Jerusalem. The crowd roared back to Arafat "millions of martyrs are already marching to Jerusalem." Israel Television Channel Two reported this evening that Arafat also told the crowd that "I am willing to sacrifice 70 martyrs to kill one Israeli" and called for a continuation of the struggle against Israel.

You are exactly right. Those who really want peace Arafat tries to assassinate. His power is terrorism, violence, and propaganda. He is a stumbling block to true peace.

"I read they have the highest birth rate in the Middle East. "

Their women are breeding kids to die as martyrs. Even animals are better than this.

What do you think - is she a troll or just stupid. Or a stupid troll. Maybe it's a random word generator, still in beta...

A word generator? Never thought of that. I remember my kids had something called Speak'n'Spell. Pushed a button, a word came out. There was something else, don't remember the name, you pulled a string and it made the noise of a turkey, or cow, or whatever you picked.

I don't think that's it. Give him some credit. These may well be his people. He may have deep heartfelt feelings, in complete opposition to ours. He hesitates to express them directly, but I know he's wrong. So do you, so does he, so would most readers (other the the KKK people, who dislike him as much as us).

Guys like Arafat and Ousama are real big on sacrificing other's aren't they, and yet they are the two most yellow cowards that ever sat under a turban.

Because Palestinians choose death, as P. Henry and our loyal military are willing to do in their fight for liberty, does not mean they are willing to kill themselves in vain but rather, take their inhumane oppressors with them. The one thing I observe about Israel's fanatics is that they are sorely lacking in intelligent comprehension of and responses to posts they do not favor, not excluding you.

"Arafat: I'm willing to sacrifice 70 to die..."

As long as he can be included on the '70 to die' list....

This is absolutely typical of these muslims. They will say one thing to us and another thing amongst themselves.

Haven't they been doing that for way over a thousand years?

Oh, but they do. Most of the time the suicide bombers are quite unsuccessful, you know. So it would be much less messy if they just chugged Yasser's potion and were off. And that wouldn't exclude you.

"...but he was shot by Palistinians, not Israelis..."

I've never disputed that.

My lively discussion with others here has been in regard to the boy’s father’s negligence and/or incompetence.

I view this entire thing as a 'airline crash' and to do a autopsy of the bodies a waste of time It is your right, of course, to do so. It is easy to paint anything with such wide strokes of a brush. One cannot get closer to the truth when doing so, however.

Israel will destabilize a government and then filter in fools that will do their bidding. Turkey was brought to it's knees economically and then save thru the IMF. A typical example I am amazed at the power you endow Israel with.

Let me suggest a more general thought here: there is absolutely no way to prove the absence of a conspiracy. Suppose I told you that Vatican has the conspiracy to eradicate science from earth. You could spend your life proving to me that this hypothesis is so ridiculous it is pathetic. But you would not succeed. I could drag you into a discussion of plausible "factors" --- they burned some at the stake for denying the earth was flat, for example. Etc., etc.

Among my colleagues from the Arab world and Persia, I noticed a cultural pattern: the one who can look at an issue through the microscope is very much respected. Mere knowledge of intricate details of the issue leads to dominance in the argument.

Well, the microscope is only one useful tool. Another is the telescope, which helps you to see the big picture. And this is what invariably happens: too much time on details, and you miss the big picture.

In hard sciences, my colleagues would concede defeat when they were caught "missing the whole picture." In social sciences and humanities, they can dig their heels in forever, still missing the picture. Witness "the Mossad did it" theory of the September attacks. The same sophistry: well they had the capability, it could be useful for them to elicit anger in the West towards Arabs --- bingo, they did it!

Well, I have a capability to drive my car onto a sidewalk, injure many people, and run away. I would benefit from it because it would attract more public attention to crime in my community, which will help eradicate it.

What would you say? That this is totally insane. But the same insanity is allowed to stand, day after day, in the Arab press.

The reason I am writing at some length is that you are doing the same thing: falling prey to a conspiracy theory that cannot be logically disproved. According to this theory, a few million Israelis, who go to work every day --- producing computer and plastics, teaching in schools, policing their streets, farming land --- manage to control the population ten times bigger than theirs. And the Lebanese, the Turks are so stupid that, poor things, they just cannot see the truth for themselves. Even when Syria can open the eyes of the Lebanese with its tanks in Lebanese soil, they still fall prey to the tricky Israelis. One quarter of the Israeli population are recent immigrants from Russia, who had never been abroad, have no clue about Turkey of Lebanon, and often do not even know how to behave in a polite company. Yet these people manage not just to defend themselves, but even enslave the Middle East.

If your mind is not completely closed, remember this. Beware of the one selling you a conspiracy theory: it is he who has ulterior motives, and it is he who will enslave you in the end.
