Al Qaeda has named a Palestinian to be Osama bin Laden's sucessor in case the latter is arrested or killed, Russian news agency Ria-Novosti reported.
Quoting sources in Dubai, Ria-Novosti said Al-Qeada members fleeing Afghanistan have revealed this to Pakastani intelligence officers during interrogations.
The leadership of the terrorist outfit would pass over to Zain Al-Abedin Hasan, a 30-year-old Palestinian from Gaza Strip, in case of Bin Laden's death or arrest, Ria-Novosti reported.
Hasan has been based in Pershwar for the last few years, overseeing the recruitment and dispatch of mercenaries from different parts of the world to Afghanistan.
The Palestinian is accused of masterminding the terrorist attacks on citizens of western countries in Aman on New Year's eve in 2000, said Ria-Novosti.

Well, a fitting end to the misplaced discussion of whether America should back Israel over Palestine.

Nice PR ploy. They want the world to see us as attacking Palestinians or some such nonsense I guess. Another gross miscalculation on their part. This merely helps with the groundswell in opinion turning against the Palis. Idiots to the end I guess.

Wouldn't it be cool if we or the Israelis were to take out this Hasan, like in the next 24 hours!

There goes another hot prospect for a whole life policy.

Well, this oughtta be good for Palestinian PR in the west.
To: umbra
Hmmm, if true, this explains bin Laden's current coziness with the Palestinian cause in recent years. It may also explain our government's coolness towards Arafat.
As for the new guy: WE'RE COMIN' TO GETCHA!

Talk about going up and around your arse to find an anti-Palestinian story to post to stir the rabble... Hindustan Times quoting a Russian News agency, and not even Tass at that.
If the named individual is a terrorist, let's hope someone picks him up. In the meantime the state dept is looking for (tax deductable) donations RewardFund.org: Every cent of your donation will be used by the Rewards for Justice Program, a State Department anti-terrorist force that uses reward payments to entice terrorist sympathizers into becoming terrorists informants.
