The point was that most people do not hold an entire religion responsible for the statements and actions of it's extremists.
Could you explain who "most people" are? I think if you read the transcripts it was stated that there where phone calls of congratulation's!!!
There are more out there. The size of the "extremists" seem to be very large...
When I say "most people," I'm refering to people like you and me. Ok, maybe, people like me. : ) I'm still going to go out on a limb and assert that most people (or at least most sane people) don't hold an entire religion responsible for it's extremists.
As for the telephone calls of congratulations, of course there were more people than the people in the room that supported the attacks. Are we to impugn the whole religion of 1 billion or so adherents because some of them made these calls? My original post was in response to a poster who said that this tape will basically discredit the Islamic religion, and I just said I don't see how.

an entire religion responsible for it's extremists.
A. That's "its" not "it's"
B. There has been no religion like Islam in which the "normal" people have been so extreme. If you knew anything about the history of Islam, you wouldn't make such comments as those you made above.

Are we to impugn the whole religion of 1 billion or so adherents because some of them made these calls? The most impugnable thing about the Muslims who were not directly in on this plot is that they will NOT vigorously denounce the promulgators of this wicked attack. That's because the religion forbids them to! Imagine that. To the majority of practitioners of this religion (at least the real world version, not Bush's idealized version) NOTHING done in the name of Islam and jihad is wicked enough to put a person outside of that pale.
