We need to get over it... brittany is very talented, so are madonna and cher. We may not approve of their lack of clothing... or the way they wiggle their thoraxic structures in performing "oops I did it again," but they never claimed to be "church ladies"... Screaming "untalented slut" as so many will on this thread makes no difference... it is also a lie. Spears was HOT vocally LONG before anybody got a gander at her cleavage... so was cher, and so was madonna.

Trashing a person's ability because we don't think they are good "christian girls" is much like the taliban who hindered women from nursing, doctoring and professional careers in Afghanistan, because they were acting immoral in public by THEIR RELIGIOUS definition of morality. There are good reasons why there is no allowance for a prescribed moral/religious code in our very first amendment... to end the tendency of mankind to form their own talibanist cultures withing public life and governance.

We can call them "trashy sluts" all we want, they are good at their music... good looking in and out of their clothes and successful because of those facts... Its not just a skimpy see-through halter top that makes them rich... It is because they are rich and successful that they can act, dress and think as they please... decadent as that may be to some of us.

Some folks hate decadence in others, because they secretly resent the success and pleasureable lifestyles that it engenders. If a person was a nun, perhaps its okay to be that way. If one is not, but still thinks that way, they should consider leaving husband, wife or children and joining an "strict" ascetic order along with the rest of the folks who think that way.

I have NOTHING against a person excercising their own moral convictions in their own lives... but I do have something against "slandering" and "slutizing" folks who are talented, good-looking and very sexually attractive, using morality as a pretense for their hatred of others.

We have to get rid of the "taleban" attitudes here in the USA, before we can succeed at ridding the world of it abroad. (Even if they are covered in the morality of a "christian" burqua)The talebanists of the world all agree, "britney is a whore" but I don't think so... she is an adult, not a child... and certainly NOT a role model for young girls, UNLESS mom and dad approve of her demeanor and career behaviors.. which I do.

We need a whole lot more of "mind your own business" in america than we currently have... a fitting result of 80 years of activist and interventionist government... has turned us all into a bunch of busybodies. That goes FAR beyond the "common defense" postulates of the founding fathers laid out in the Constitution.

We are the weaker and more vulnerable for it as a Nation.

People who have "faith" and "convictions" need to keep them to themselves instead of projecting their "I am the judge of your morality" attitudes upon others... Good fences make good neighbors. rom 14:22

this reply is NOT for you specifically... just a general thought that emerges on every similar thread... FWIW

Umm... why is it a lie? She has no talent. Her voice causes me to run screaming into the night. She has been know to drive hapless passersby to commit suicide... all right, that last may be an exageration, but I know a great many people who cannot stand her 'music', her voice, her lyrics... and certainly not her stage act.

Don't tell me to simply not support her - every time you walk into a grocery store, or mall, you hear her hideous voice coming out of a speaker somewhere.

This is yet another reason - like I needed more - to eat meat!

,,, although NOT specifically a reply for me, I noticed an absence of "all" on the addressee line, hence my quick reply to your guidance set down for me, Dad.

The subject of our attention on this thread really has to meet the subjective question "what is her talent?". The true talent and credit lies with the promotion, record producers and the greater industry. The amount of post-production these singers or performers receive is indeed, lavish, to say the least. At some point Madonna and her copy cat lines of similar achievers have to decide on whether they want to be a soft porn star or a singer.

I have a good collection of jazz and a reasonable amount of pop in my collection of LPs, CDs and cassettes. All of the artists made it to my shelves on the basis of how they sounded in my car, home or elsewhere, not whether they looked good in their underware. I can assure you my decisions to buy Frank Sinatra, for example, were on merits that proved his acceptance over many years for vast audiences, not by him in a state of undress.

Yes, she must be very talented to have all those songwriters and producers making her songs for her.

Congratulations. You managed to pick the three least-talented vocalists in pop music to use as an example of singers who are "vocally HOT".

The three of them can publicly appear in various states of undress and I don't really care, and I'm certainly not here to attack them. But great singers they are not.

Does this include ridding us of "busy bodies" who seek to end the wearing of dead animal carcass and animal acts? Does this end there? They certainly advertise to tell people to stop eating meat. Does it end there? Can we still own pets?

More and more local governments are restricting language, prohibiting the phrase "Merry Christmas" within the office (and banning the US flag, etc.). See there are busy bodies, but some have been busier than others...
