Well then I must admit I have encountered the phenomenon of two commentators, both named Debbie Schlussel, one of whom is a hard right conservative, and the other a "vicious left-winger".LOL! Look, Schussel can call herself a Conservative Republican --- McCain does.

Bill Morrow was the guy who ran against Issa and lost the first time. He is a fundamentalist Christian, or at least that is the source of his backing. He was a nice guy when I met him, but ran a totally sleezy campaign to get himself first elected to the state assemby, by sending out false and misleading, and downright scurrulous, last minute hit mailers on his opponents at the last minute when they did not have time to respond. Politics is a dirty business in California, a very dirty business, in part because the sense of community is so low that these people are only known through ads and mailers.

Issa is one of the good guys.
Issa is an idiot, but he certainly doesn't deserve to be bombed. Hell, he just voted for a Congressional Resolution of "solidarity with Israel". Looks like JDL has been smoking some bad hash.
To: College Repub
I may agree with alot of the JDL positions
Then you are a terrorist. I am calling the FBI.
To: veronica
But Irv Rubin is not stupid so I'll wait to see the evidence.
Come on, Veronica: you never hesitate to criticize the other side. Should I conclude that you are biased?
To: Sabramerican
But if this idiot wanted to strap a bomb to himself and give the Arabs terrorizing Israel (there) a taste of their own medicine...I would have to think long and hard.
Ah, so you are pro-terrorist too. This is getting interesting. So many calls to the Fatherland Security Committee, so little time.

Every six months, a snake crawls out of its old skin, but it is still a snake. Congressman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., "Jihad Darrell" should know this.
You're nuts. He just voted "yes" on "solidarity with Israel". This guy is on your side. You spit on him because he happens to be Lebanese? I am starting to think you are racist. Sad.
To: proud patriot
It is disgusting that the FBI is going after those who fight terrorists!
So bombing Congressmen is now acceptable to you? You are a friggin terrorist. Go crawl back into your hole, punk.

I'll grant you that the source should also be considered, but Issa's donor lists speak for themselves. Seems to me, Issa and Hilliary have a lot in common.
And, FWIW, I'm with Bush in that is there no such thing as a good terrorist (talk about an oxymoron). If these two guys are guilty, then they're no better than Hamas.

Darrel is on your side, Veronica. You'd be crazy to attack and isolate him. He may speak up, but when it's time to vote, he votes "pro-Israel". These kooks don't speak for American Jews. You should clearly say so. Or at least not seem like you support them.
To: Zviadist
I did say it, that IF Rubin did this it is wrong.
Issa defending Hezbollah is not acceptable to me either.
To: veronica
So sorry....He's a scummy guy.Possible, but irrelevant. No matter if Issa is the worst man in Congress (FWIW, I know nothing about him): if people -- whoever -- have plotted to bomb his office, they need to be locked up. Ditto for fools plotting to blow up mosques on American soil.

but when it's time to vote, he votes "pro-Israel". Yep. He's just trying to save his sorry political ass. If he didn't have to, he wouldn't. But I suspect he is going down. He represents a quite high income and well educated district. They won't be fooled. That airplane incident made him look like a total jackass. And folks aren't too interested in hearing folks whining, particualarly their representatives, that they are being profiled and discriminated against, and isn't that terrible, because they are Arab. Boo hoo.

I hate to say I told you so -- actually, I don't really -- but I predicted this whole thing with a column I wrote about Irv Rubin, oh, about 5 or 6 months ago, I reckon. When that nutball was hailed by the Libertarian Party as its latest prestigious acquisition, I warned that one day he would be involved in an incident such as this -- and tarnish the already badly damaged image of the LP. Somebody posted a part of the column either here or on another thread on the same topic.
To: Saundra Duffy
Unless you don't mind that Hezbollah has been killing and maiming Israeli's for years.
