Poetry: Cat Haiku

You never feed me.
Perhaps I'll sleep on your face.
That will sure show you.

You must scratch me there!
Yes, above my tail!
Behold, elevator butt.

The rule for today
Touch my tail, I shred your hand.
New rule tomorrow.

In deep sleep hear sound
cat vomit hairball somewhere
will find in morning.

Grace personified.
I leap into the window.
I meant to do that.

Blur of motion, then-
silence, me, a paper bag.
What is so funny?

You're always typing.
Well, let's see you ignore my
sitting on your hands.

My small cardboard box.
You cannot see me if I
can just hide my head.

Terrible battle.
I fought for hours. Come and see!
What's a term paper?

Small brave carnivores
Kill pine cones and mosquitoes
Fear vacuum cleaner

I want to be close
to you. Can I fit my head
inside your armpit?

Wanna go outside.
Oh, crap! Help! I got outside!
Let me back inside!

Oh no! Big One
has been trapped by newspaper!
Cat to the rescue!

Humans are so strange.
Mine lies still in bed, then screams
Claws are not that sharp.

Cats meow out of angst
"Thumbs! If only we had thumbs!
We could break so much!"

The Big Ones snore now
Every room is dark and cold
Time for "Cup Hockey"

We're almost equals
I purr to show I love you
Want to smell my butt?

Funny!
Of course you know the difference between cats and dogs, don't you?
When you call a dog, he comes.
When you call a cat, she takes the message and gets back to you.

My sympathies... If you do a search on 'Rainbow Bridge' on yahoo or google, you will come up with some very heart-warming (and tear-inspiring) poetry. I researched that when my step-dad's dog died last year. The keyboard was covered in tears. My gosh, I'm getting teary-eyed even now...

OMG! What a great haiku. About 75 percent of the things you said in the haiku, my cat did this morning. LOL!

There once was a kitty so sad
from the shelter we took to our pad.
He came dubbed "Sir Regis"
but became quite the terrorist
So now he's "Osama Bin Bad".

True story...eats plants, tried to take the chicken leg from my mouth, hid the shampoo, stole a roll of stamps to play with (then hid them), sits 4' in the air on the sideboard to catch moths and terrorize friends, decided the eggs collected from the hen house and setting on the table were balls and couldn't understand why they didn't bounce when he dropped them to the floor, and claimed the water bed from the rottweiler (all the while sweetly mewing).

Nickolai's Haikus

Howling by the door,
Ribboned prey clutched in his teeth.
"I have a Bow-wo...."

Standing over Nubes
Expressing great displeasure,
"I don't like you much."

Collette's Haikus

You may pet me now
But only for two seconds
Any more, I bite.

Look! A dog invades!
I will protect the household!
I will lunge to kill!

Nefertiti's Haikus

One eye on lit tree,
Purring, sprawled on the settee.
Behold! Christmas Cat!

Little bits of white,
She shreds all paper she finds,
Ollie North is proud.

Anubis's Haikus

Cat of immense size
Truely a freak of nature
Stretching to four feet.

Fooling the Master
Plop down for tummy rub
"Oh! There's a new cat....!"

Need my belly rubbed
Right now! Must have petting now!
If not I will mew.

We buy cat grass so they have something to eat that is not *my* plant.

Okay... it doesn't matter - they still eat my plants, but at least I feel proactive!
