alternative is unacceptable.

To Bible thumpers. No one else cares. This battle is lost, as was the battle against evolution, as was the battle against the earth centered universe, as was the battle against the spherical earth.

The "science" of the Bible was that of ignorant goatherders. Enlightenment moves on -- Talibans wither and die.

See #3 for the "it's-just-my-instinct-and-I-can't-help-myself" argument - it makes your point. Some folks just want to plead "dumb animal" when it comes to what is clearly a choice in humans.

Speak for yourself...

I'm a man who couldn't be attracted to men sexually even if I "chose" to try to. Nor could I successfully "choose" not to be attracted to women.

I'm just not built that way.

I could no more "choose" to change my sexual orientation than I could "choose" to give up sleeping.

And since I'm aware that I'm simply "wired" that way, it doesn't seem unreasonable to me to consider that men who show obvious sexual attraction to other men, and not to women, may well be men who are "wired" differently, and not simply men who are somehow able to "choose" to do what I would find impossible.

Are you truly trying to tell us that *you* "chose" *your* sexual orientation, and that it was not thrust upon you by biology before you even really understood what sex was about?

I didn't "choose" to be heterosexual. I just *am*. If someone else claims that they similarly didn't choose their homosexuality, I'm going to have to take their word for it, because I don't see how someone *could* "choose" contrary to what they were born to on this matter.

I'm sorry if that violates your preconceptions in some way.

To what are you "enlightened"?

By the way, reproductive biology has a set design; it doesn't take ideology to recognize that.

Pedophiles make the same assertion.

It threatens the Biblical veracity. I mean if sexual orientation is NOT choosen, but pre-established -- how can they hate homosexuals -- how can the Bible call on us to kill homosexuals? It just CAN'T be -- even if it is!

reproductive biology has a set design

Right, and a nun or celibate priest, or anyone who chooses a celibate lifestyle effectively defeats sexual biology just as much as a homosexual lifestyle. Therefore celibacy is EVIL!!!!

"Seventy five per cent of AIDS fatalities are gay. The rest get it from infected needles or blood transfusions."

Look, I'm no 'mo or drug user, but I am more inclined to believe current CDC statistics than the rants contained in an 11 year old book written by someone of unknown credentials.

Here's what the CDC has to say..."Of new infections among men in the United States, CDC estimates that approximately 60 percent of men were infected through homosexual sex, 25 percent through IV drug use, and 15 percent through heterosexual sex." Based on these CDC numbers (41,960 new cases reported in 2000...keep in mind that's just reported cases), I calculate nearly 6,300 non-homo's and non-IV drug users were infected with HIV just last year.

What a wonderful article! Thanks for posting this. I think the brainwashing goes both ways, though. The purveyors of sex and sexual entertainnment have a vested interest in encouraging any lifestyle that is based on sex. I don't think they care whether it is gay or straight. Promiscuous, sex-obsessed heteros are just as profitable as promiscuous, sex-obsessed homos.

As for whether it is a choice or not, I am not convinced either way. I had a male housemate years ago who clearly chose to practice promiscuous homosexuality after being dumped by the female love of his life. He had a female lover at the same time as many male ones. He was mostly confused and hurt, and tried to make his pain go away by having sex a lot. He died of AIDS. But I have other gay friends who I feel sure would rather not be gay, are not promiscuous, and do not define themseleves sexually at all. I think it is the insecure ones who have simply chosen to practice homosexuality who feel they must throw it in everyone's face. They seek the validation of others to hide their own shame and guilt.

There's where we differ. I believe that "alternative lifestyles" - boy, they really do have you talking the talk, don't they? - I believe that sleeping with the same sex is sad, and sterile, and ultimately self-defeating, but if they can take some human comfort in it let them be. Please don't be worried about this - the sex drive is stronger than propaganda, trust me on this one. Boys like girls, and girls like boys, men like women, and women like men. That's how it is, and nobody with a microphone or a word processor is going to change it.

Heterosexuality is a life cycle consisting of courtship, marriage (as an evolving union), and parenthood.... In contrast, homosexuality is arrested development, and as such it is a perversion.

And that makes celibates EVIL!!!!!

Everyone should just calm down about the whole gay issue. They can't "make" anyone gay. There is no conspiracy. Just gay people want to be more accepted, and even if they tried, they aren't going to convert anyone.

"Please don't be worried about this - the sex drive is stronger than propaganda, trust me on this one. "

I have no worries about anyone being convinced to turn to an alternative lifestyle, because I do believe that the predisposition for one is biological; albeit biologically awry and unnatural.

However, I do resent the feminist-lesbian legislative-judicial assault on the natural-nuclear family.

That is succeeding. Witness the skyrocketing of the divorce rate over the last 30-40 years.

Flat earthers...sigh. Be constructive. I recognize that the earth is round.

I also recognize that men were designed for women, and women for men. Anything else is madness.

Infidelity in marrige has little to do with lesbianism! :-)
