Look, I'm no 'mo or drug user, but I am more inclined to believe current CDC statistics than the rants contained in an 11 year old book written by someone of unknown credentials.
Here's what the CDC has to say..."Of new infections among men in the United States, CDC estimates that approximately 60 percent of men were infected through homosexual sex, 25 percent through IV drug use, and 15 percent through heterosexual sex." Based on these CDC numbers (41,960 new cases reported in 2000...keep in mind that's just reported cases), I calculate nearly 6,300 non-homo's and non-IV drug users were infected with HIV just last year.
That's the ratio New York City was getting until they started digging a little deeper, at which point the hetero infection rate dropped down to near zero. Of course, investigating the "hetero" rate became politically unpopular, so they stopped.
Doctor: "Are you a homosexual Mr. Smith?"
Smith: "Why, no, doctor!"
Doctor: "Of course you're not..."
