American mediator Gen. Anthony Zinni, who met with Yasser Arafat yesterday, said about him, "I have never encountered such lack of trustworthiness in my life."
He said it was a "waste of time to try to reach a serious agreement with Arafat," and will concentrate on talking with other top figures in the PA - probably a reference to Muhammad Dahlan, Jibril Rajoub, and others.
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon breakfasted today with the European Union's Javier Solana, expressing his satisfaction with the EU's call for the dismantling of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
The EU's statement of yesterday also called upon Israel to freeze settlement activity in Judea and Samaria. Sharon said that Israel is anxious to fulfill another EU request by easing some restrictions upon the Palestinian population, but "the unceasing terrorism makes this difficult."
But when pressed to show that I've ever stooped to that depth, he retracted the indictment and substituted
So, in your own words, Jim kicked you off for antisemitism. You say he "let you off the hook" later, in private?
There. Finished with you. *PLONK*.
I do not know for a fact if the article is true or not. I also do not know if it is a tactical leak or an undermining article.
I support Zinni's mission there but I do not have enough facts to say one way or the other if it is true or not.
Somehow you seem to be privy to some secret knowledge that the rest of us do not. Hence, your firm and concrete assertation that the article is false. If you speculate that it's false, that's one thing, but when you outright claim it's false, that's another.
I must go and take a final exam but shall return. Maybe this thread will be at 823 posts when I get back.
Unsubstantiated horse-pucky. Or better yet - horse-puke-y.
I've heard that before.
Look, the fact is that, if these statements were accurate, it would reflect a major change in US policy toward any future dialogue with Arafat. It's a fact that these quotes aren't confirmed by any other news source in the world. It's a fact that these quotes are apparently contradicted by subsequent events.
If you say that it's conceiveable that Zinni would say such a thing, I don't have a problem with that. I disagree but it's only a matter of arguing over likelihood.
But if you say that you absolutely believe that he said that, in spite of all the evidence which casts grave doubts on it, then I'd say you have an agenda. I don't think that's unreasonable on my part.
Glasses OK, conscience fine. Illiterate, I don't think so, if you do you shouldn't have asked for an illiterate moderator. I looked, I read your posts. I don't think Smith288 (are you sure he's a corporal?) was anti-Christian. I don't think Sabramerican is anti-Christian. I don't think Sabramerican is my patriarch. Why would you think that, are you channeling? And I don't think you care about what General Zinni said at all. In your opinion, am I un-American because of my opinion?
No it wouldn't. I can't know if he said it, if he did it clearly wasn't for publication, if accurate. But in my experience, if a General Zinni wanted to tell Yasser the time had come to get his *shit wired together, this is how he'd say it. Actually, it's kind of gentle.
Is that what I did? I was sure my excerpt was different. Let me check. Yup, I'm right. I excerpted in rejecting our Savior, Jesus Christ?.
Is there a difference? Well, yes. Are you referring to your Savior (as you imply) or to those who you hate for rejecting him?
And what is your views of those who "rejected" him? Do they engage in sinister conspiracies?
This is a summary of your claim. Do I have it right?
Israel is attempting to sabotage Zinni's mission by an innocuous story posted on a web site read mostly by supporters of Israel?
Veronica, part of the Israeli conspiracy, carries the story to FreeRebublic hoping that from here it will be picked up by all the news services- which of course is a daily occurrence on FreeRepublic- and get back to Arafat, who will get so angry that he will refuse to see Zinni, who will need to return home with his mission a failure. Then the violence continues and Israel wins.
You're a sentinel with the vigilant watch to protect the World from this well thought out Zionist/Jewish plot.
Psychologist would find your anti-Semitic mind a fertile field of dreams.
Come on. That's easy.
Freshly killed "Palestinians" taste so much better when they are pumped up by adrenalin from the excitement of a good old fashioned suicide bombing.

It has potential, worth a pilot. Young, beautifur Veronica, a throwback to the 50's, Gen. Zinni, (John Wayne can play him electronically now) ethnic interest. Arafat (what's that?). FR and the internet connection. And the villan, Bold Fenian, the new Darth Vader, with no redeeming qualities. And Sabramerican. Oh, oh, falls apart there, you need a stage name for your screen name to make this work. Archie?
By the way, no matter what Bold Fenian says, you aren't my patriarch.
I should hope not. The patriarch never gets the girl.
Was that meant for the thread on reindeer hunting over here http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/588209/posts?page=87 ?
Jughead
As for me, it's pity. Not hate. I'm forbidden from the latter. (Why'd you flag me anyhow?)
