I see what you're saying, but I still think the original text is refering to the teaching/leadership role between husband and wife. I'm not implying that you in any way hate women. My source for this was something I heard on the radio program
Stand to Reason so I guess you could call it hearsay since I myself don't know Greek from Swahili, but I do think that it makes more sense. Else, again, no matter how much you love them, it would be subjecting all Christian women to all Christian men.

BWAHAHAHA! Masturbation and condoms are the road to hell, eh?
I've heard the earth is flat too.

I myself don't know Greek from Swahili Me either, but I have to trust that God has given me a good translation in the new Bible's. As for subjecting all women to all men, what is the harm in that? My wife is suject to me, and I to her. We are one body, we are not one mind. I could no more hurt my wife or any other christian brother/sister than I could hurt myself.
I appreciate your comments it is nice to discuss this with you. I am but a servant of God and I try to get the words to come as he would say them, and I usually fail.

Good chrisitans are always targeted by Satan, and they do not stop being human, they sin.
I too am a sinner, are you sin free? Shall you cast the first stone?

The Talibornagains can believe what they want, as long as they don't decide all us "sinners" need to "get religion".
Otherwise they'll find out exactly what the phrase "enemies foreign and domestic" means.

Typical Catholic-basher. 1) Claim to have years and years of Catholic education--i.e., argument from authority, the weakest argument. 2) Cite some argument from Thomas Aquinas that few people are likely to agree with. Do not mention that Thomas Aquinas, like any prolific theologian, held a lot of views that never were and never will be part of the Church's official teaching, but were philosophical opinions, or the medical opinion of his time. 3) Bring in some irrelevancy, such as whether women can be priests or not.
Nothing this man says has any connection with whether using condoms is or is not intrinsically immoral. He simply bashes the Church for awhile, and then, when he thinks he's got his audience in a nice anti-Catholic mood, asserts a position at odds with the Church's.

You keep missing the point. I didn't say anything GOD did!
Are you going to keep taking pot shots at me for quoting the Bible? If so, sorry. I live by the word of God. Jesus is my savior, end of story.

Well, I would respond and say that I do not approve of abortion or sex out of wedlock. I don't believe in the "kids are gonna do it anyway so give them condoms" mentality, if that is what you are saying. Both are irresponsible.
If sex was kept to marriage as it was intended I believe we would not need condoms and abortions would be non existent. At least not used as a form of birth control as it is now.
As a catholic I believe that the use of birth control other than natural means, is sinful.
Good time for me to plug the couple to couple league.

My goodness, the Church is certainly the victim today.
Someone disagrees with its position on condoms. Maybe you should file a hate crime complaint against the author.

It also doesn't say: Thou shalt join church and state, or thou shalt dominate and control thy wife, or thou shalt take lots of money from your congregation in the name of God.
Yeah, and it doesn't say Thou Shalt jump off of tall buildings, thou shalt eat tree bark, or thou shalt sniff glue. So now that we've got all of that out of the way, what exactly does any of this have to do with your comment about Lot's daughters?

Both of you should go
here for the proper teaching of the role of women in the Catholic Church. It is the text of Mulieris Dignitatem, the Apolstolic Letter from Pope John Paul II on the dignity and vocation of women. Long read, but well worth it, if you want to understand.
