Joe Clark fired back at state juvenile justice officials yesterday, saying they were encouraging a possible gang uprising at the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center by criticizing him for using harsh measures to restore order to the facility.

Clark, the facility's famously combative director, made a defiant response to a report by the Juvenile Justice Commission that accused him of using straitjackets, long-term isolation and other prohibited measures to control his detainees.

JOE CLARK - AMERICAN HERO

Once more, Joe Clark, a real American hero, finds himself the victim of politically correct political stool-pigeons in a bureaurocracy.

FREEP the State of New Jersey on this nonesense and persecution of man who knows how to deal with malefactors and maintain order in an institution.

For those who don't know, Joe Clark is the real man behind the baseball-bat-wielding principal at a Paterson, NJ high school in the movie, "Lean on Me."

I think it was Morgan Freeman playing Joe Clark. Pretty good casting.

Sometimes I wish Joe Clark (or Dirty Harry) were running the White House. Enough nicey, nicey! Put those Democrats in 23-hour isolation and stick the mittens down their throats!!!

(p.s. - that scene in "Lean On Me" when Freeman/Clark lectures a young kid doing drugs is one of the BEST anti-drug rants I've ever heard. It ought to be made into a 30-second spot that runs on MTV, VH1 and BET once an hour.)

You're kind when you wish Dirty Harry was running the White House. I'd like to see Genghis Khan or Sulla or Tamerlane running thw White House - Just long enough to clean out the liberals and Demonrats.

Could be, but I think they go to JF Kennedy, the other high school.
