Forgive me if I have things wrong and please correct me if my personal research has led me astray. Let me also preface this post by stating that Palestinian lunatics like Hamas need to be destroyed.

With that said, my research has led me to belive that the palestinians have been screwed throughout history. Israel, by force has seized so much land and then infringed even further into palestinian land. They ignored the U.N. recommondations and siezed vast amounts of land from Palestine. Israelis were the minority and by force , displaced weaker, huge masses of Palestinians. I have spent most of my life hating the PLO and blaming them for the huge Middle-east problem. now I beleive the Iraels are also to blame. I never really understood the issue and decided to find out. I strongly believe there needs to be distinct boundries that must be respected by both sides. I was surprised to see how many Israeli settlements were in Palestinian areas. I guess I figured out there is two sides to every story. Come on fellow freepers, educate me and tell me your beliefs.

"siezed vast amounts of land from Palestine" - Israel + Occupied territories are about the size of New Jersey, that's not vast amount of land. The borders of Israel were drawn by UN in British Palestine after WWII. The land was British colony, not the "country of palestine" or anything like that. And the territories, they were occupied during wars (3 wars), all of which were started by arabs in order to get rid of Jewish state once and for all

Both. The Palestinians refuse to recognize Israel as a state and Israel, and her supporters here, refuse to recognize the Palestinians as a people.

growing up in saudi arabia with palestinian friends, I always felt that way. Having said that, I find myself just about all out of sympathy for their cause.

Look at the history, it does not lie... There fought 3 major wars with Arabs since its establishment in 1948. All three of them were started by Arabs and won by Israelis. Israel didn't occupy the territories for nothing, they wanted a demileterized buffer zone between them and the enemy.For the tiny county of Israel, that is 300 miles long and 75 miles wide, a few miles they occupied is a big help.
