First band that comes to mind is ABBA. "Gold" is aptly named. :)

You mention best albums of the 70's and you fail to note

Parliament/Funkadelic?

Are you nuts!

Also, where's Earth Wind & Fire? The Isley Brothers? The Average White Band? Marvin Gaye? The Temptations? Isaac Hayes? Curtis Mayfield? Michael Jackson's "Off The Wall?" Slave? War? Barry White? George Duke? Grover Washington, Jr.? The Commodores? Rick James? Al Green?

C'mon!

You can't mention the 70's without those who put the "unk" in "FUNK!"

Lastly, I'm only 29. I'll be 30 on the 22nd of this month. I know a thing or two about the old school, white bands included.

No thing, tho'. It's just a Motor Booty Affair.

Ya dig?

Hmmm. Focus' "Moving Waves" or their "Hamburger Concerto"...

HAMBURGER CONCERTO
(ending)

Note: the conclusion of the song is an excerpt from the 17th century dramatic play "The Gijsbrecht van Aemstel" by the Dutch playwrite Joost van den Vondel:

O, Kerstnacht schoner dan de dagen O Christmas Eve, more beautiful than the days
Hoe kan Herodes het licht verdragen How can Herod bear the light
Dat in Uw duisternisse blinkt That blinks in your darkness
En wordt gevierd en aangebeden. and is celebrated and worshipped.

Zijn hoogmoed luistert naar geen reden His pride listens to know reason
Hoe schel die in zijn oren klinkt How noisy it sounds to his ears
Hij tracht d' onnozelen te vernielen He tries to destroy the untaught ones
Door het doden van onnozele zielen by killing untaught souls

En wekt een stad en landgeschrei And rises a crying in town and country
In Bethlehem en op den akker in Bethlehem and in the field
En maakt den geest van Rachel wakker and awakes the spirit of Rachel
Die waren gaat door beemd en wei That starts haunting field and meadow
