They are attempting to (and maybe succeeding in) playing the demographics card. Orthodox Jews do the same thing. Only they don't send their kids with guns to attack soldiers or their young men to blow themselves up among teenage civilians... I don't agree with much Pat Buchanon has to say, but every now and then he says something inciteful that most people don't focus on at the time, but which proves to be important in the future. He recnetly wrote something about the demographics and population issues in Israel. It's something that needs to be dealt with quickly, just like we should have done something with regard to immigration and border controls way back when...like he was saying...

Ok, look. Tell your Israeli friends that they’ve got to build things called “Reservations” for the Palestinians. They’ve got to make the Palestinians live on the “Reservations” for about 40-50 years, through several generations, and they’ve got to keep them totally isolated so they won’t be supplied with bomb material from the other Arab countries.

All the Palestinian workers have to be removed from Israel proper, and the Israelis have to import Latin Americans or Philippinos for low-cost laborers.

Then after a few generations, the Israelis can help them build casinos. Let rich Arabs from all the Arab counties go to the casinos, and Israel can skim some of the money off the top. That way, the money from the Arab countries can help finance Israel.

Could I fake it? Can I pretend to be something called a Louisianaterritoryian, a native of the long lost country of Louisiana Territory, which the evil Americans stole. Worked for the "Palestinians".

Hey, look, about 10 years ago I did a story on a “long lost tribe” of southern Louisiana Indians. They had been “officially recognized” as Indians by the federal government only since the late 1970s. I went around interviewing some of them, and most of them were Cajuns! HA! Now they are getting free food, free medical care, free medicine, and they are thinking of opening up a casino.

What you have to do is “prove” that one of your grandparents was some kind of Indian or another, and then you can legally be admitted to one of the “official” US tribes. Then you get lots of free stuff from the US tax payers.

I missed my opportunity, and now it’s too late. When I was a teenager, I learned that one of my past relatives was a Cherokee. Had one of my more recent relatives “registered” as a Cherokee, an even more recent relative could have registered, and that would have allowed me to register. But now it’s too late. I’m too many generations away from my distant Cherokee ancestor.

I would cut off all military aid in the region, offer refugees of any stripe immigration priority and transportation to this country and call on other countries in the world to do the same.

Then, since no one is forcing Israelis or Palestinians to live there, America could wash her hands of the whole thing, which, IMO was a bad idea from the get-go.

I'm tired of taking this theatre of morbidity seriously any longer. Pass the popcorn.
