JimRob can't be expected to police every thread. But the rank, appalling racism of some comments made during the discussion of the Adams Mark lawsuit really is quite beyond the pale. Your thoughts?

I've talked to several Muslims and I must say their response was not as negative as I would have liked to have heard. And all of them got off on a rant over Israel. A couple said they KNEW that Israel was behind 9/11. My family knows one of the most famous Muslim professional sports players around. A kind and gentle man. He said that what happened was not Islam. But, there is way too much weight on the other side. Way too much. And the basic teachings if Islam are anti-American because in essence they call for Islam everywhere. Please prove me wrong about that. That Islam does not teach and really demand that everything be Islam. You can't.

You must think I'm crazy for claiming this thread was pulled in my freepmail but when I first responded to you and hit preview on my reply letter...the "this page has been deleted" page came up.
Strange. Sorry for the confusion.

It is irrelevant how they became slaves. The fact we had slavery was horrible enough.Very true. But we can also be proud that we overcame this blighted infamy. I was just disputing someone else's idea that all Africans in this country were slaves, and that it was the Americans who enslaved them. Being a part of the African slave trade was disgusting and horrible.

I am aware that right or wrong is based on your own set of morals and beliefs but it's so hard to keep from judging others. There was a local band in Philly years back called Beru Revue - they had a song with the lyric "I've got no tolerance for intolerance". And to paraphrase the band Rush, if you choose not to judge you still have cast judgement. And there was a sign at a company I worked for years ago that said "Good judgement comes from experience - and experience comes from bad judgement."
There is nothing wrong with judging others - in fact, the Constitution enshrines that right by allowing freedom of association. Would you invite someone to your home who irritates you? Would you marry someone who has values you don't share? Of course not - but isn't that a form of judgement? Do you consider western Judep-Christian values superior to fundamentalist Islam? Why is it wrong to not judge that warped aspect of Islam and condemn it as being inferior to our values?
Even the college culture that has tried to teach you not to judge does just that - judges people. They just pretend that they don't. Don't fall for their trap, and use your values freely.
And while I'm at it, welcome to FR...

Change it to "blinded by propaganda" instead of "too stupid to realize it" and I agree with it.
Fact: socialism hurts the poor the most, and the poor in this country are overwhelmingly minority.
Yet blacks vote for the socialist Democrats by margins of 9-1.
Who benefits from maintaining a permanent underclass? The Democrats. Who would lose power if the underclass ever did escape poverty? Democrats (studies show, the more affluent minorities become, the less strong their allegiance to the Democrats becomes). So is it so hard to realize that the Democrats have a vested interest in keeping and expanding the underclass?
Yet who gets the vote of the poor in this country? Democrats.
Skin color has little to do with it, actually.

"Well, actually, Destiny's Child is from Houston. "
I suspected they were not really girl scouts. My crystal ball told me.

Good thing I didn't post a picture of the Village People?

Do you think sexism runs rampant at FR?.
To: isthisnickcool
you're right I can't prove it because I haven't read all of the Q'uran. I do question how strictly many follow the teachings. It seems that like any other religion many have brought the good teachings into the present and left behind some of the older practitces. Not all but many of the severe ones.

My thought is that you're on the wrong forum. Toddle off to DU or somewhere if you like PC. From reading ArcLight in the past, I'd say that this was uncalled for belittlement. ArcLight probably had his buttons punched, hence a frustrated vanity. He'll get over it I hope and then, as in the past, I'll read his comments with interest.

A suicide bomber, eh? You would need to practice years of self abuse to get the requisite skills down, I reckon. :-)

I think I've joined Free Republic at the right time.

I don't know what you're talking about cuz I never saw the post in the first place. I will say this, though: My own father is a racist but I'm stuck with him and he has the right to his opinions. Doesn't mean I cut my dad off, nor does it mean I am a racist just cuz my 77-year-old set-in-his-ways dad is. For victory & freedom!!!

What I want to know is how many years has Gary Condit been married to THAT WOMAN? For victory & freedom!!!
