Our racks were stacked four high. You had to get the guy in the rack above you to get out before you could turn over. And they didn't call them "fart sacks" for nothing. 'Course, steaming the Seven Seas in a multi-million dollar home with semi-clean rack and three hots a day sure beat the hell out of what the Marines and Army troops ashore had to suffer through. Salute!

3-up. You could turnover, barely. Hot-racking; 3 guys assigned to 2 berths and sometimes 2:1.
Too bad if you got teamed up with a sweaty A-ganger (MM).
I slammed thru my Sonar Qual's in a year & half just to get my own pit (and a cool clean sheet).
