My mom and dad's dogs, Daisy and Maisy are sooooo cute. The people who had them just didn't have room for them. Their other dog had puppies and they were going to keep them. They had 5 dogs, and like dutchess said, it's a handful. I found an ad in the local paper. They were giving them away free to a good home. My mom and I conspired! We didn't tell my dad at all what we were doing. I just brought them there on my Mom's birthday while my dad was working. heh heh heh
My parents are retired, and live in a very small town, about 800 people. My dad has a job at a local restaurant and bar and tends bar. When he came home, my mom was there with the video camera! He called me at midnight, and all he said was 'woof woof'! LOL!
Every winter they head south to Texas and Florida for 4 months in their motor home. They are going to take them along. I think this was the best gift I ever gave them...

Today, Texas dropped to #3 for the first time since I've done this. The Unknown gained a few hundred dollars in donations, and jumped to the number two spot. Additionally, New York jumped up to #4 with a $1,000 donation from a very generous FReeper.
Also, Washington, DC FINALLY jumped up out of the pink, for the first time in... a while. Rhode Island and Wyoming also are now in the black.
Palo, Arizona's jumped up quite a bit, but Pennsylvania is still pretty high on the list, but still within strking distance.
For aesthetic purposes, could FReepers from California, Texas, New York, and Florida pick colors to display their states in? If it's an oddball color, providing me with the hexadecimal code for that color would be most appreciated.
And, that's enough of my blabber for tonight. Let's get on to the list!
Freepathon State Scoreboard
This scoreboard displays how much each of the united States, Government Districts, Territories, Possessions, and other nations have contributed to the Freepathon. (Contrary to what you might think, foreign nations actually do contribute lots of cash...more than some of the States!)
Here are the rules: When you donate to Free Republic (can be done via secure server here, or by a postal address to follow), include your state of origin. When BADJOE posts your donation on the thread with your state, it will be credited to your state in subsequent updates of the list. (Your name or screenname is never revealed by BadJoe. In fact -- no one but BadJoe will ever have your credit card number, address and name. And we can't associate names with screen names unless you make that information public). All donations without a location will be credited to the Unknown State (also known as "Never Never Land") , and all states with zero donations from residents of that state will be marked in sissy pink. Requests to put your state, of any donation status, on the sissy pink list will be honored. Foreign countries are granted "diplomatic immunity" from the sissy pink treatment.
Numbers in parenthesis - ( ) - are the number of FReepers who have claimed this location in their FR profile. This in NO WAY reflects the total number of registered FReepers.
The top five ranked states get their state's name in any color they choose. Pending color selection, the top five ranked states will get interim colors picked by me, to make it look nice. If you want to change it, just ask, and it will on the next update of the list.
