At this point in time, I am just listing the highlights of subjects that those of you who were there and/or saw this on the news should comment on. I will post more detail later as verified information comes in. Thanks to everyone for your support and especially to those who showed up today. Also, may God Bless Free Republic for helping us communicate this way.
1. Kensington Town Kouncil "Taliban" were nowhere in sight today.
2. Mayor Raufaste spun this event out to the press as a "patriotic tribute" rather than a Christmas tree lighting.
3. Santa was NOT allowed to light the tree. The mayor used a wall of firefighters and rescue personnel to hide that fact.
4. All the major networks and news wires were there.
5. FReeper Santas dominated the event and made it very enjoyable for the children of Kensington. The oohs and ahhs from the kids were plentiful! Much more to be posted, soon...

2. White is NOT a member of the TRT or the coalition of FReepers who were there last Sunday. He may have popped up at other FReeps, regardless, we FReepers cannot control his behavior nor have the power to "ban" him from places open to the general public. To insinuate otherwise is rather evil of you.

Though we had assumed that this beautiful and mild "Indian Summer" day would be a contributing factor to the relatively low patriot turnout, we knew we could count on a few of our most dedicated minutemen to show up anyway.

So should I listen to what you say, that White isn't a TRT member, and that he just shows up, and that you can't control what he does... or should I look at your past posts and pictures and come to a reasonable conclusion that because you have captioned one of your pictures of him as a Patriot, that White is okay by you?
I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here. The Santa protest was a great success, and the FReepers (in good standing) who were there are to be commended for upholding the good name of FR by their peaceful protest. However, I am disturbed by the fact that, after Bill White was ejected by popular vote of the crowd for his anti-semitic sign waving, the little fellow who was with him holding that sign ("jaumemoto") slithered over into the midst of the FReepers, unbeknownst to them; and as "FR event coordinator" you did nothing to alert the good FReepers that a banned FReeper had entered our group. The folks that I alerted did move away from the guy and had no interaction with him. As "FR coordinator," I think you should have made that fact known to all FReepers there. And because you didn't do that, I again wonder if you think that "jaumemoto" is an okay guy, too.
So go ahead, HC... continue to call me names, make disparaging remarks about whether I'm a lady or not, and call my concerns a personal grudge against whoever. The facts speak for themselves. I care more about FR, its goals and its reputation than I do about a few nasty comments flung my way. And so long as Bill White and his followers are tolerated (sometimes even lauded) by events you coordinate, I will absent myself from those events.
Yes, the Town of Kensington is in Montgomery County, Maryland, one of the most afluent, and definitely most well educated, counties in America. That now 20 yr. old Walker kid definitely went to the public elementary school in Kensington and grew up in this area. The ease with which he was swayed into joining the real Taliban is not surprising given the anti-religious, secular tyranny of the Montgomery County public school system. In a way, John Walker may have just been rebelling (as teenagers tend to do) against the anti-religious nature of the political establishment here in Montgomery County, by doing the opposite extreme of his upbringing. ;-)
This is childish. Why do you insist on trying to smear the Tyranny Response Team? What has the TRT ever done to make it enemy #1 in your book?
Is it because it serves as a constant reminder as to how the pro-gun establishment in Maryland has failed for years on end (not because it hasn't tried ... but because it dares not try anything new)?
I'd really like to know why you have this hangup where you feel compelled to demonize the TRT at every opportunity.

Thanks! Actually, I was so busy running around amongst the hundreds gathered at the town hall site of this FReep, that I was not able to take as many pictures as I normally would have. I hope you are happy with those taken by others though. I had to spend some time (behind-the-scenes) on the very difficult task of helping the police keep people from rioting or beating up on each other there. And no, I am not a police mole. A long story...
Thanks. Some of the Santas were FReepers, undercover TRT members and FReeper recruits. The others were Kensington VFD staff, bikers, townspeople and visitors who were encoraged by certain talk show hosts to attend. Our FReepers and TRT members did not scare the children. It was, an overall, joyous occasion for all of us there.

I'm so sorry to hear about the shyster-like merchants you have in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. I believe they would also probably be the first ones to seek government/taxpayer help if their profits should decline as a result of their anti-Christmas bigotry. You and fellow FReepers may want to consider doing public protests against those greedy Pittsburgh merchants and their rather underhanded form of bigotry.

That sounds to me like they MAY have actually fairly reported what happened that afternoon. Emotions were running quite high for a lot of people there, however, contrary to what one or two nasty FReepers who've posted on this thread would have you believe, it was overall, a very happy and truly joyous event.

Yup, I both witnessed and continue to read about the Kensington "managed" media spin (lies?) on the event and it's aftermath. I was there, within six feet of Santa. He did NOT light the tree. The Mayor did. However, due to the crush of media, undercover cops, and certain government "volunteers" blocking the view, that fact was obscured from all but those standing right next to the Mayor, directly in front of the tree.
We achieved 99% of what we humanly could have under the circumstances, at least in the eyes of the general public, that is. Though, I agree with you that this is not over yet. I have to take a personal sabbatical from this "Claus Cause" for now, but, feel free to FReepmail your real e-mail address or phone number to me if you'd like to discuss this further (offline).
