(20:40) Palestinians on suicide bomber: 'We are proud of him'
By Mohammed Daraghmeh, The Associated Press |
December, 02 2001 |
NABLUS, West Bank The suicide bomber who blew himself up on an Egged bus in Haifa today was a 21-year-old plumber who had gotten engaged six weeks ago and was preparing for his wedding, his stunned father said.
Muhiy Habashi, 65, said he had no idea his son, Maher, had been recruited by the Islamic militant group Hamas. One of the assailant's younger brothers broke down in tears and had to be restrained while his mother sat in a room surrounded by grieving women, clinging to one of her four daughters.
Outside, Hamas members fired in the air in celebration.
Maher Habashi boarded a bus in Haifa around noon today, paid the fare of five shekels and within seconds set off the nail-studded explosives strapped to his body.
The blast killed Habashi and 15 bus passengers and bystanders, police said. About 40 people were wounded.
The elder Habashi, a municipal worker in Nablus, got word of his son's death after he returned home from evening prayers to join the family for the sundown meal that breaks the daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
Habashi was stunned as neighbors and friends came to congratulate him. "He got engaged one-and-a-half months ago and we were getting ready for his wedding," Habashi said, crying and holding on to relatives for support.
Hundreds of Palestinians filled Habashi's home and spilled out into the street, most coming to offer their congratulations and others, their sympathies.
"Everybody feels bad when they lose their son," said Habashi's cousin Adel, 45, a school teacher. "But we are proud of him, you should be proud of him," he said to Habashi.

...neighbors and friends came to congratulate him.And we are still to believe that those celebrating in the streets on 9/11 were just "a few children".

To Jews, (and most other folks) it's a matter of pride to become a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, a mother, a dad, and other such admirable endeavors. To these animals pride means brutally murdering human beings. Islam is a piece-ful religion. The more folks you can blow up into pieces, the more full of pride you get to be. BARF.

Israel can put a stop to this. All Israel has to do is round up the families of the suicide bombers and execute every single family member--make the price unbearable.

In a crude way, the militant Islamic suicide bombers are practicing social Darwinism - with luck, before they have managed to reproduce. Unfortunately, the militant Islamic suicide bombers are not, probably, born with a suicide gene, it appears to be an acquired characteristic, after making some sort of choice, you know, like choosing to be a homosexual. A bad choice, but a choice, nevertheless.

The suicide bomber who blew himself up on an Egged bus in Haifa today was a 21-year-old plumber who had gotten engaged six weeks ago and was preparing for his wedding, his stunned father said. The only good thing about this story is that he didn't live to breed more terrorists. What these stories never point out about the Arab terrorists is that they are breaking two fundamental tenets of their own "faith", the prohibition against suicide and the prohibition against the murder of innocents. The terrorists have been brainwashed by their own leaders. We should start eliminating them from the top down.

Israel MUST destroy that village to the ground to demonstrate that murder doe not pay. What are they waiting for?
To: imperator2
Yes, indeed, Israel must bring that village of the suicide bomber to the ground, so that the parents, who have raised such an evil and misguided son, have no place to rejoice at his "martyr" death. There would not be so many suicide bombers if they knew that all of their kin would be without a home. The parents, no doubt, will be given $10,000 by Saddam, and there are other funds as well, making it profitable for families of the suicide bombers. I say that the families should get pay back for what their children have done.

I think that it was Netenahu (sp?) who suggested that the Western news media could advance the cause of peace by printing translations of the news and opinion the Palestinian Authority and Arafat release to their own people in Arabic. Apparently, it differs greatly from what is fed to the West in English. As for example, Arafat denounced the WTC attacks and even offered his blood to the Red Cross, but his Arabic press releases praised the terrorists as Martyrs.
It would certainly be a start if everyone knew who our enemies were.
