old as the hills.

check out this, from edmund wilson's "the american jitters" of 1932:

(younger writers) who had grown up in the big business era and had always resented its barbarism, its crowding out of everything they cared about. for them (the depression) was not depressing but stimulating. one couldn't help being exhilarated at the sudden, unexpected collapse of the stupid gigantic fraud. it gave us a new sense of freedom; and it gave us a new sense of power.

it's the same ol' leftism, done up anew.

"...they're LOUSY writers!"
---Yeah, that was the most shamelessly overheated "passionate-adolescent" prose I've read in years.

Something else that bothers me is that their nice, neat version of the world doesn't address what will happen to all the medicine or food that is grown because of technology! Are they willing to see most of the entire 3rd world die of starvation and disease because there's no longer any technology?!

I don't know if these guys are tied into the rabid "bunny hugging" anti-hunter outfits, but when I was on active duty at Fort Lewis in the middle 1980's as a young studly Lieutenant, I once went into the Cascade Mountains on a little Elk hunt and ran across about five of those Clymers who proceeded to inform us that they intended to "dog" our hunt all the way and scare away all the game.

SO, I looked at my partner (another officer from my outfit) and we agreed to shelve our hunt for the day in order to have some "fun" with the bunny huggers. We proceeded to run them ragged thru the woods. We chose the nastiest, meanest, thickest terrain and chewed through it...after all, we were Infantry Officers! LOL That's what we did for a living! It was a gas, listening to them, hearing the curses, the gasping, the whining! Ah, music to the ears. When the sun went down we ran them through a nice little swamp. We came out right at our vehicles and suddenly realized they weren't behind us.

My buddy was all for leaving, but I figured they might also be afraid of the dark, so I convinced him to run back and find them. It was easy. We heard them crying for mama about two clicks into the bush. We threw rocks at them until they got mad enough to chase us. We led them right back to the highway. I moved slow enough to hear them stumble over the logs and thick underbrush. I sure am grateful to this day that our boss, our company commander let us play "Bet Your Bars" and check out a set of NVG's (Night Vision Goggles) from the company arms room. Bet your bars is a game played by most junior officers for doing things that can get you in a HEAP of trouble if you screw up! LOL

I live just 30 miles from the tree Julia desecrated here in Humboldt County. Our local press was down there almost daily wiping her but for her. Many people here boycotted them by canceling papers and stopping advertising with them. It did not stop them because they were looking to post a "big" story nationaly. Pacific Lumber refused to prosecute her or her supporters. Big mistake although they may have feared revenge.

The local leaders are Darrell Cherny and the late Judy Barri. They won the darwin award one year by having a pipe bomb go bang under Darrels seat on the way to a demonstration in the bay area. They are suing the Oakland police and the FBI for false arrest on this incident. My son said Cherny was in our shop last month. Let me tell you these people are a few cells short of a omega. They also occupied Congressmans Frank Riggs Office here in Eureka. The police used pepper spray in their eyes to disband them. They sued the police for excessive force and lost.

Get Bin Laden. Next get these terrorists. Lock them up, deport them, execute them. Whatever it takes to annihilate them is okay with me. These people have been thoroughly brainwashed, probably by our socialist education system, to the extent that they're incorrigible and a menace to freedom everywhere.

Sure sounds familiar. Makes you wonder if cloning was successful a long time ago and they're just getting around to telling us. It sure as heck isn't robotics. No self respecting robotics company could produce an android that was so erratic.

It's a shame, environmentalism used to be a noble cause, until it's been twisted and distorted beyond all reason...

That's enviromentalism, twisted and distorted beyond all reason. Now if it is sensible. or noble as you said, that is called conservation. An advocate of that is called a conservationist, but the left doesn't like that terms, for obvious reasons.

VERY nice, and worth the wait! Might I suggest "Uhrrrth Fist!" in that it would be more anatomically correct, uh so to speak.

I was tempted to make a thought ballon coming from the tree that made the tree appear to be thinking, "Oh, yeah... you know how I like it..."

But then, I remembered that this is a family forum ;0)
