HOWDY FREEPERS
I'm going to make this essay a two parter. The first part concerning the freepathon which is in progress.
As I've explained in past essays a lot of the other message boards have been takne over by X42 type goons and thugs who are continously running conservatives off of these boards. Free Republic appears to be the only safe haven for conservatives on the internet.
Obviously, this effort is not without costs. I believe Jimrob said that now the quarterly costs are up to 66 grand. Here's how you can do your part.
If you can donate please do so. We need this message board now more than ever.
If you do not have the discreationary funds to do so however than please help us out by bumping the freepathon threads so that those who can donate will know there'a a freepathon in progress.
Whatever you do Let's all do our part to keep the light on at Free Republic.
Now to the second part of the essay, the Badtrans virus. There was a thread on this on Thursday. Here's the thread. I did want to mention that on Thursday I received an e-mail from someone in my family. As it turned out, the e-mail was infected with the W32/Badtrans.B Virus. I immediately deleted the e-mail. Afterwards I ran a virus sacn and it found no viruses.(I use Norton.) I also checked the registry and the disk and could not find any of the files which the virus contains. When I run disk defragmenter though it shows the disk contents changing every 2 minutes. Before this happened, it was every 10 minutes whic is normal.
The bottom line is you want to be very careful about opening any e-mail that you think might be infected. I'm amazed my computer is still running after all this.
