Why are the stars on the Republican elephant upside down?
As part of a graphics job I was redrawing the Republican Elephant in postscipt so I could use it in a high resolution design job that I was doing. I noticed that the stars are upside down.

When I looked at the Democrat version of this logo I found that the stars are pointed up.

I did a little research and found the use of the five pointed star upside down has satanic uses. I have searched and searched but I can't find out who designed the Republican logo. I have a feeling some neo-pagan, democratic designed this logo and is laughing everytime he sees this logo on a Republican advertisement.

I may be wrong but I think the Republicans have been had again.

I would suspect this was a simple design decision. But I do think the designer might be shagrinned to see your comments.

Julius Petersen -- mathematician. Actually, for this type of theory, the distances and lengths are irrelevant -- just which dots are connected to which other dots. A network.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that the pentagram is actually a symbol of so called good magic and the hexagram is the evil symbolt hat you are referrign to. A hexagram is a misdrawn pentagrma int hat one of its sides is longer than all the others.

At least that is what I had always ehard. Does anyone know?

The triangle is the most structurally sound geometric shape. Any shape with more than three sides is less stable.

What is that? Is Satan supposed to be a goat?! Seems like the master of evil could do better than a goat represented by an upside-down star.

The goat was chosen as a symbol long ago by people who worship Satan, because the Bible says that God is going to separate the sheep from the goats. By representing themselves with a goat they are making the point that they don't follow God. In addition, Satanists refer to the "left hand path" as their lifestyle, in reference to the fact that Christians are told in the Bible that Jesus sits at God the Father's right hand in heaven.

Both stars are right-side up.

You have the donkey printed upside-down - it should be flat on it's back with it's feet in the air.

ROFLMAO - LOL Funny! Best line of the thread.

Here's my cynical answer:

It was a media hack that created both of them, and he knew about the upsidedown stars being an occult symbol. Kinda like the red/blue maps.

Did you mean for #58 to go to YaYa123.
I made the "coin" comment, not the "three" comment.

Well, now that it's out in the open, I guess I might as well confess.

I sneak around at night, driven by the compulsion to take every five-pointed star I can find, and rotate them 36 degrees, either to the right or the left, as the mood strikes.

Out of sheer nastiness, I rotated the stars on the Republican logo to the left.

When I'm feeling really rowdy, I'll sometimes rotate them 108 degrees one direction or the other.

What a rush.
