And now for the rest of the story.... Free Republic is here to stay! I've never, not even in a sour milk moment, thought it wasn't.

God Bless You, God Bless Free Republic, God Bless America!
BUMP!

Jim, I rarely reply on FR, but I am always here lurking. I am so glad I met those Freepers at the Governor's mansion last November in Austin, Texas, who introduced me to FreeRepublic. I was there with my family carrying signs supporting G.W. Bush. Since that time, I must say I have spent hours daily on Free Republic. Thank you Jim for such a valuable service. I look forward to donating again at tomorrow's start of the Freepathon. Long Live Free Republic!!!

The truth is that Jim R. is an up front, stand up guy, and the complainers are of the tinfoil brigade!

God Bless You! I'm hooked! I would have serious withdrawals (but actually get some work done) if FR was gone

Would BCJohnson, CHIEF negotiator or any of our other fallen FReepers want this site to perish? Hell, no!
While I wait for the fundraiser thread to be posted, I'll go help my wife put up the Christmas tree this year. When she asks why I've suddenly taken an interest in helping her do something I've avoided for many years, I'll tell her I'm celebrating the many things I'm thankful for: She as my wife; George Bush as president; living in the United States of America; Jim Robinson for creating my "second home."

Good news, God Bless You and FreeRepublic!
You didn't really fool us, we knew it all the time! (grin)

Well, I'm kind of glad you DID post that article Jim cause it alerted FR posters as to some of those posters who may be "plants" and who just wish for this site to just "go away".
FR will persevere! Long live FR! And thank you, Jim.

Jim, Thanks for the follow-up message. I think you did a good job clarifying why this site will remain non-profit.
Yet, some FR people here do such a bang-up job on research, I would think they could perhaps form a profit-making research group -- unaffiliated with FR -- and, taking on paying clients.
If any of those eager-beaver researchers should happen to decide on their own they want to donate to FR, just as they might decide to donate to any other organization, well, so be it.
Just a thought for the future, for those people out there who have the time to organize such ventures!
PS Yellow Rose, Nita, Alamo-Girl -- I was thinking about what happened on that FL hospital thread. That nurse's law firm could not possibly have done all the research FR already did on behalf of her case!

YEA! Jim, I can't afford more than a few dollars, but I will start sending FR a regular donation with my middle of the month paychecks.
