November 29, 2001 -- THE squabble over military tribunals is giving me a headache.
Thousands of our countrymen were slaughtered in their workplace. Our nation is at war. Yet from the yelps emitted from pundits and politicians who claim disproportionate access to our airwaves and brain waves, the biggest menace America faces today has nothing to do with hijackers.

Bravo Andrea Peyser ! We must not ever forget one thing, i.e. These people want to see every last one of us dead. They staged a sneak attack on the soil of a peaceful nation and killed thousands of us. They want to kill all of us. Why would we care what Safire, Press, Spain or all of Europe thinks about Military Tribunals ?
We are at war. So, profile them, arrest and try them in a Military Court. It is far better than they deserve.

There is precedent for our government taking bold steps to protect its citizens during times of warThat's fine. If we were actually at war.

At the end of World War II, the Russians argued that all senior German officers captured should face summary judgment as soon as they were caught. Their argument failed and that's why the Russians showed up at Nuremburg.

The media is disproportionate when compared to the American populace as well - Bush has an 89% approval rating this week but you would not know it coming from the press.

That's fine. If we were actually at war. I don't think that qualifier will pass the moron test.

That's fine. If we were actually at war.Bingo. And it's because congress does not have the guts to declare a war that we are in this fix. If Bush had war powers at his disposal, I would feel MUCH safer. As it is, we are all at risk of becoming victims of political correctness. God help us.

The lefties thought they had a winning issue here but they were obviously wrong. The American people want JUSTICE and VENGEANCE (not delayed) and we sure as hell don't want a pile of left-wing lawyers defending this scum at our expense and on our turf. For victory & freedom!!!

George W. is at war and the American people are at war. What congress is doing is anybodies guess. They would still be debating whether we should go to Afganistan,as we speak.

Or do you favor abolishing that worthless document?</sarcasm

Would Monsieur care for cheese with his whine?
Also don't forget to work in references to:
1. Hitler
2. Big Brother
3. Statists
4. "Some of my best friends are Muslims"
All of these will lead to a fulfilling posting experience.

We should forget the Constitution (you know, that document that has guided this country for the last 225 years). Now that GW is in office it's obvious he knows best. Why burden him with rules or procedures or the rule of law. They're just trivialities right. If he has 90%-95% approval as we keep hearing then why doesn't he declare war? It's what the country wants isn't it? The man is shredding the Constitution in the name of convenience.I refuse to accept "because I said so" as a reason for ignoring the rules that we all are supposed to live by.

Id love to stay and debate but the wind has gotten up and those of us here in North Alabama are bracing for what looks to be a stormy night. Gotta round the kids up and get somewhere safe soon. See ya on the flip-side.
