I think sometimes you and others expect too much from the Forum. I think of it as a garden...you'll always have a few weeds, bugs, rot...but if well tended, a bounty at harvest time.

I think your garden analogy is very apt. A GOOD gardener tends it carefully, gently, with loving care, making sure to extract only the weeds so that the good plants might bear prodigious fruit. A BAD gardener hacks at his plants indiscriminately with a meat ax, felling many good plants hoping to get at the occasional weed. A REALLY BAD gardener makes war on the weeds by torching everything growing, weeds and healthy plants alike.

Having witnessed many a good fruit-bearing FReeper plant get yanked out of the garden and treated like some noxious weed (not to mention many a fruit-bearing thread), a little GOOD gardening is definitely in order.
