P.S.S. NEVER use advertisers. They would clutter the site and detract from our unbiased, and sometimes entertainingly harsh, opinions. I disagree. There are ways to make advertising unobtrusive, and it is never necessary to kow-tow to advertisers.
There is something basically immoral about the expression, "non-profit." If FR has a value, which I believe it does, there will be no problem making it a "for profit" operation. That is the essence of free enterprise, which is the heart of a free repbulic.

If I understand the law correctly, if FR is "for profit" then we have to pay for the right to reproduce news articles. No more cut and pasting from news sources.

I have worked with companies to include advertising on their sites. The advertisers usually get their way and you have to bend with them or lose the very funding that keeps your site alive. FR could sell t-shirts, sweat shirts, banners, hats, bumper stickers, etc to make great money.
As Jim said, the lawsuit has to be completed before changes to FR's status can be made anyway.
