But I do think those claims only have whatever weight they do because of the donation model you run FR on. I disagree. People freely choose to donate. That they do so is nobody else's business. How Jim spends the money donated is also nobody else's business.

That's it. He's a warlock! (Is that in the book? I've been scared to read them because of all these threads; I was afraid if I read them, I'd become obsessed with posting threads about them on FR!)

I love FR. It helped get me through the Clinton years.
The libs are intimidated by the FR show of strength. They resort to lies in order to discredit it. This is, as we know, their normal MO.

good lord, enough about Harry Potty!
the real mind altering satanic books are about Xanth, all the Satamists I have met have copies. I've read a couple and was scared about what the result was, it didn't change my opinions it was like a bad drug.
anyways... read the Hobbit (Lord of the Rings), its a great book..

Does anyone doubt that Ashcroft would've treated Elian the same way Reno did? I once thought you had a brain.

Thanks Jim.
Now, if only every one of us who gives the service a fair flogging would donate a Dollar per day -- and from the resulting cash flow; after you are paid a a salary comensurate with your creativity, inovation and prodigious efforts; we organize as a political force to be reckoned with -- what a force we will be!

I think it's time to have posting priviledges reserved to paid sponsors. Monthly fee, with optional lower yearly rate. While I have been an irregular donor, I would certainly have kept myself paid up, if required (and I will donate this round). We would see fewer of the fun-but-now-overwhelming type threads. Disruptors would melt away, or at least help support the forum they seek to destroy.
I've been a half-hearted user of other services that have instituted fees... and I stopped using them. This forum, I would not walk away from.
Thanks, Jim.
My thoughts exactly. Saves me the trouble of typing it. A subscription level tied to posting priveleges. But, of course, be ready to refund whomever gets banned. You'll either be rid of the riff raff or they'll have to PAY you for the purposes of casting stones at you. A win-win as I see it.

Don't know. I don't have kids so I have not been subjected to them. As far as I know, Harry Potter is a character from M*A*S*H* (oh wait, that's Col. Sherman Potter...never mind.)
Also, that may have been my first Harry Potter reference to any thread.

Could the world survive without Free Republic????
Of course...
Would the world be a better place without Free Republic??
The answer is painfully obvious.......NO.
This place 'makes waves'.....and in doing so it will attact enemies.
Enemies who are bent on the destruction of all those who stand for Freedom...and the free discussion of ideas...and ideals.
Don't let the bastards grind you down.
