Look at the graph of "Do you consider yourself pro-choice or pro-life?" Pro-life was steadily climbing until by 1998 it was poised to become the majority opinion. Then it dropped again. What happened in late 1998? I'll give you a clue if you don't know: Do a web search for "Dr. Slepian".

Excellent point. We must fight this in the courts and the legislatures.

Toward that end, the next step should be to outlaw abortion if the fetus has brainwaves. A definition of death in all 50 states is the absences of brainwaves. Therefore, the definition of life is the presence of brainwaves. Therefore, aborting a fetus with brainwaves is murder, legally.

BTW, I believe life begins at conception, which would seem to put me in the minority, according to these polls. I favor an incremental approach to banning abortion completely, however, as the voting public seems unwilling to make this happen in one fell swoop.

That is far too logical and full of facts. Pro-abort zealots have no capacity for logic, otherwise they could not be pro-abort. The fact that a fetus is a baby is a human being is so screamingly obvious that, to be pro-abort, one has to enter depths of denial so unfathomable that all logic and reason must be jettisoned very early.

Much as the laws of physics do not apply on neutron stars, the laws of reason and logic have no effect on pro-aborts.

The numbers in the poll indicate that while only 17% of the people believe abortion should be illegal in all cases 82% of the people believe that abortion should be legal is at least some cases. In other words the poll shows that America is Pro-Choice.

The numbers in the poll indicate that while only 26% of the people believe abortion should be legal in all cases 73% of the people believe that abortion should be illegal or legally restricted in some way. In other words the poll shows that America is Pro-Life.

I remember when a pregnant woman was said to be "expecting a baby." Now it's carrying a fetus, as if a fetus were not a pre-born child. Words do mean something. Whenever I hear someone say, " A woman's right to choose...," I want to say choose what, choose to kill her own baby? Pro-aborts never want to finish the phrase.

...73% of the people believe that abortion should be illegal or legally restricted in some way.

How does one restrict abortion is some way? Do you want to be the bureaucrat who will sit in some dark Washington DC cubicle and decide what types of abortion can and cannot be restricted? Perhaps a committee of the US Senate can meet and decide which type of abortions can take place. Perhaps, we can make women go down to the local U.S. Gov. Abortion Licensing Office and take a test to see if they qualify for an abortion in your world.

I was merely pointing out the statistical conclusions. Maybe I could have worded it better. I assume the "Legal only under certain circumstances" position demands some sort of restriction on abortions. That would be the logical assumption. But, maybe that is the problem,

Please refer to post #8.
