DEBKAfile's military sources after checking on this lead with army intelligence sources in the Indian subcontinent, present this explanation of the mystery (of the missing al Qaeda troops not found by U.S. Marines in the plains or mountain hideouts) as the most plausible. Those Anatovs (transport planes) were chartered by the Pakistani ISI- Inter-Service Intelligence to lift the al Qaeda contingents together with a few Taliban units out of Konduz in north Afghanistan to north Pakistan.
And that was not the end of the transfer. It is still going on. Our sources report that al Qaeda and the Taliban allies are streaming out of Kandahar in the south and crossing east into Pakistan. The two forces have thus far grouped 4,000 fighting men on the Pakistani side. According to DEBKAfile's intelligence sources, the United States hurriedly injected Marines to the south on Monday in direct response to the enemy's redeployment. That too is why the first US troop engagement was with a Taliban convoy approaching the Pakastani frontier. For the U.S. Marines' immediate objective is not to join the Northern Alliance offensive for the capture of Mullah Omar's bastion of Kandahar, but to block off the continuing passage of Taliban and al Qaeda units across the highly porous frontier.

What I'd like to see is the use of one of those AN-225s for a load of daisy cutters. How many could it dispense? That would be worth the contract cost just to sell the videos. (Goodbye Kandahar in one minute or less.)

The basic information is put out from India's media, with british papers citing the information. It's not likely that the US would admit it. Time will tell.

Garbage, yes.

Apparently they have much more radical leanings/interests than the more-moderate Pakistani president. Well, factions in ISI do. And other factions don't. One of the more fundamentalist ISI guys wrote a book about his experiences supporting the resistance against the Russians, it is accurate in places and nonsense in others.
Check here: Afghan Books by Brigadier Mohammed Yousaf.

In answer to your question, the ISI essentially made the TALIBAN. The fact that the U.S. has made an ally of the very people who sponsored the movement we are ostensibly at war with says alot about the leadership of our State Dept.

"Wait until I tell DEBKA, it will be tomorrow's scoop!"............It is doubtful that DEBKA will be requesting input from individuals who have repeatedly expressed an anti-Israeli bias.

DEBKA is number one on the web for
ACCURATE & TIMELY intelligence-related info. No wonder the 'spin-meisters' at the CIA don't particularly appreciate the MOSSAD having an information outlet which they have little control over.
That, of course, is just plain tough.

No they'd have some standing on the roof - seen their buses and trains, get a 1,000 in one plane no sweat, at least 50 in the cockpit. For my money they were Airfix kit planes that's why awacs missed them.
Reading this thread I see we have missed out why no-one has seen Bin Liner HE HAS PAINTED HIMSELF WITH STEALTH PAINT
Warn Debka quick.

DEBKA has been listed by Forbes Magazine as one of the "Best of the Web". Sounds to me like you didn't like this information coming out........ Perhaps you can tell us where al the al Queda terrorists in Konduz have disappeared to. Were they beamed up? or maybe they put on their magic cape and became invisible? You and your ilk all sound like broken records without credibility. Sounds to me like you don't like news sources that are not controlled by disinformation agencies.

Your proof is what? and where are the al Queda terrorists that were at Konduz? Was it during the uprising at the fort, while everyone's attention was distracted there, that they were evacuated. DEBKA is not the only news agency reporting this.
