President Bush returned to the White House today after a long holiday weekend at Camp David. Bush greeted Dayna Curry and Heather Mercer, two women who were held for three months by the Taliban for allegedly spreading Christianity. The President then answered questions from reporters regaring the war on terrorism as well as the news that a human embryo had been cloned. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I can't get over how they (W. and the two gals) look like real people. I never saw any in the Clinton White House.

...you mean all it takes to meet W is to spend a couple of months in an Afghanie prison???? Hmmmmmm ;-) Well, that's one way of getting to meet him! If anyone has any White House contacts and might be able to get Lawgirl in to meet W, short of becoming a Taliban prisoner, contact her ASAP, PLEASE! LOL!

SLAP! . . . I've got to stop making comparisons between the current White House and that former charade. There simply are no comparisons. It might as well be two different worlds we are talking about here.

You HAVE to link that to this thread...I heard Hugh playing our Dear Helen talking about bombing Spain..... Who died and made her queen, anyway? Isn't there a story about Bush putting her in her place recently? Anyone know it - I think it had something to do with her getting to ask the last question, or maybe two questions, and he didn't let her... someone help me out here!

OK, this line (in the Comforter in Chief article) just made me lose it.......BIG TIME!! What a wonderful marriage!! What a wonderful wife Laura is!!! (And George W. ain't bad as a husband, either!)
Actually these two are the perfect role models for all Americans who would like to have a happy, close marriage. Their marriage works, it's plain to see.

I wasn't around the Thanksgiving holiday to add my "thanks" for all you do for us rintense. So THANKS!
I watched the news conference with the two women who were rescued from Afghanistan. The President was definitely on his game. I wish he took more questions because he was really smacking the press corps around. It was great.

I loved it, too. Furthermore, the reporter recognized it and wrote about it in such a beautiful way. By painting that word picture of them standing by the window I could really see it, and almost feel what they were thinking about.
I am going to go buy a Newsweek!! That issue is a keeper....oh, and they are on the COVER!!

Did you notice that the pressies weren't shouting out their questions? Perhaps they are raising their hands. They are certainly showing a lot more respect these days.
Thanks for the great pictures.
