Vanity: Worst Baby Names

Alright, this is a total vanity. I didn't post it under "Breaking News" so relax.
My mother and aunts have been pestering my wife and I about when we are going to have children. Lately, we have taken to coming up with the worst possible names for babies and telling them we are considering names first. Well, they get real upset with some of them and even get angry with us for even considering them.
My mother in law is coming down for Christmas and it is inevitable that when she, my mother, and my aunts get together they will gang up on us about having kids. So, what I need from my fellow FReepers is a good list of really bad baby names to suggest to them as names we are considering. You help and creativity is greatly appreciated.
Oh, the last name is Terwilliger if that helps at all.

Perhaps this has been posted, but there are famous sisters named Ima and Ura Hogg. The father did that to them. They are rich, so it's OK.
Without reading through all 56? posts, has there been a listing of all the names of Shirley Q's children?

Back about a hundred years ago I was in the Army National Guard with a guy named Fay Kay Ray; he swore that one day he would get even.

My wife once taught a little kid named Lemonjello, pronounced Luh-mon'-juh-low. Also, there was a high school kid here whose first name was Shithead, pronounced Shuh-theed'. I knew that family; did you ever get to meet Foocup?

There is a picture of Chloe on my profile page. She's quite the cutie (and you must be a proud papa)! :^) Must be around my Chloé's age...(2 in August).
A Jackson named after "Stonewall" is definitely a worthy name! (did you ever see the statue of him at the Bull Run Battlefield in VA?)

I trust all the names suggested for you will be proffered in good faith. Not all are so lucky. True story about naming a poor, helpless baby, told to me by a person who vouched for its truth:
The mother was a -- um, -- welfare queen, and had a whole batch of kids already (eight, I think they said). She was in the hospital after giving birth to a girl, and asked the nurses and other hospital staff to help by suggesting a name, since she had run out of ideas. I think the winning suggestion was "Vagina Jones."

Not at all. I come by once in a while to see if there is any new INFORMATION on NEWS items that may be of interest to those who care about this country. There used to be posters who actually contributed information- not meaningless speculation or worthless drivel, but honest to goodness information. Now it takes more time to find any information than it is worth. So fine, you say, don't come back. Many others have taken that approach, and I will too at some point, which only reinforces my original point that this site has become a church ladies' gossip board. I just wish I knew where the others went.....I wish you no ill will, I just wish y'all would go to a jabber board of some sort.

I just wish y'all would go to a jabber board of some sort.I mean you no ill will either, but since you don't like it here anymore, perhaps it is you that needs to find a new hangout.

Strobe??! Gotta be a family name.
BTW, it was mentioned years ago in Esquire magazine's annual Dubious Achievement Awards issue that Brazil that year had passed a law making it a crime to give your child a name that could be considered embarassing or humiliating. It seems it had become a fad amongst young couples to give their newborn children names like "Drooler" or "Bugeyes" as their legal name. Based on some of the names I've seen parents give their kids in this country (Strobe, Queenshebia, etc.), it might not be such a bad law...

Accckkkk. I hate those place names. Did these people mistake their atlas for a baby name book? My kids go to school with a Dakota, a Denver, a Cheyenne and a Montana. One of my sons is good friends with Montana and I frequently make a "mistake" and call him Idaho. He doesn't care for that much.

Hey Fair, how about setting your preferences so the "your opinion" threads do not show up on your screen.

If you'd like some cheese with that whine, you could visit the USO Canteen, but somehow I have the feeling that thread offends you, too.

After reading through several hundred of these great posts, no has mentioned my wife's grandfather's name--Ulrich

I know two little twin boys who are named D'Ivory and D'Ovry. I shudder at the thought of little D'Ovry's high school years.

I don't like the place names either, but I wouldn't pick on the kid over it. He can't help what his name is.
I wonder how the name "Madison" got so popular. In the 1980s movie "Splash," the mermaid character played by Daryl Hannah got her "land legs" and was walking around town with Tom Hanks' character. He mentioned that she needed a name. She pointed at a street sign and asked him what it said. It was Madison Street. She thought that was pretty and that she would call herself Madison. The Tom Hanks character is surprised, but good-naturedly goes along with it.
Is this where people got the idea to name their daughters Madison? Did they not get that it was intended as humor?
