I understand what you said, and correct me if I'm wrong... but it sounds to me like you let the words of a few Christians (that you felt were lies) drive you away from your faith altogether. Don't let some folks who you disagreed with turn you away from having a relationship with God, and learning His word.

(Sad but true) - sometimes Christians say things that might turn people off to Christianity.... Keep in mind that no one is perfect and good -- except for God! If you have doubts about the Bible, read the book, 'The Case for Christ' by Lee Strobel.

I hope you're still interested in seeking the truth, and I hope you come to accept Christ. John 14:6 sums it up!

ps- you'll be in my prayers!

I wouldn't say the words of a few completely drove me away. But the were the first serious crack in the armor. They drove me to explore other possibilities and begin a critical analysis of all things metaphysical. First I explored the occult they said other things were driving me to, I found it laughable at best and found no corrolations between what I'd "learned" in D&D and heavy metal. Then, having rejected occultist spiritualism, I turned a very critical and coldly analytical eye towards the faith I'd been raised in, and it couldn't stand my muster. At one point I did as so many others have done when having a crisis in faith, I read the book of Job, but when I read it I got a far different message, I became very upset with what God would do to his most ardent follower to win a handshake bet with satan. Then, as I just decribed to RnM, I began to have serious trouble with the concept of no salvation without Jesus and it's implication in the time Christianity was localized to Europe. Finally I decided that the whole soul thing just doesn't make a bit of sense and walked away clean.

But it all starts with one chink in the armor, one thing that made me look at my faith in ways I never had before and might never have, except some people spent a lot of time spreading BS about hobbies they had decided, with no facts to back them up, were evil.
