November 24, 2001 -- Is Harry Potter the spawn of Satan?
That's the opinion at one Christian school in southern Australia, where parents voted yesterday to forbid students from reading about the bespectacled wizard and his preteen cohorts.
The vote was just part of a widespread anti-Harry backlash by religious conservatives angered by the best-selling books' blatant celebration of witchcraft and the occult.

But if people's faith is threatened by a 12 year old boy with a wand, I dare say that perhaps they need a bit more examination of their own faith that they embrace.
In the Old Testament Leprosy was anathema to all men and those that had it were to be avoided and many times were segregated even to the point of being kept in isolated colonies.
Very few people recovered from Leprosy due to its complete destruction of the flesh and bone and yet its first sign of being present was from a miniscule but very bright spot appearing on the flesh.
Leprosy was equated to sin since Leprosy destroys the physical body and sin destroys the spirit and both produced death, physical in the case of Leprosy and eternal in the case of the spirit.
When an Israelite first discovered he had one of these "bright spots" he was to present himself to the priest and do as he was told according to the Law of Moses.
I believe that that is the way sin gets into the lives of young and old alike, through a seemingly innocent(in the beginning)activity.
The things that are evil and deadly to our spirit life do not appear with "horns and a forked tail" for Satan's ministers appear as ministers of light and not as "howling demons".
