Highway robbery is back, and bigger than ever before.

The department says it has the money, but it won't talk about why Schweppe can't have it back. They're waiting for him to get tired and give up fighting for his money so that they can keep it for themselves. That's why. Am I close, you thieves?

This is another place where traveler's cheques and debit cards come in handy.
To: Wolfie
Do the police have something against cash? If this inividual had been carrying a credit card with a $100,000 credit limit this wouldn't be a story. What are the charges? Being successfull? Crossing state lines while not being impoverished?

Thats not the point,it is not a crime to have any amount of cash that one might desire, hell ,he may have just come back from a good poker game, kinda hard to call a bluff or make a bluff with a credit card.I'll see your visa and raise two mastercards.

No!

It will probably cost him more money to get his money back, than they siezed. These siezure (un)lawful laws have got to go. These type of case will probably increase though.
To: lowbridge
Even if he gets it back the lawyer will nail him for 1/2 of it.

Only criminals and drug dealers carry such large amounts of cash. It's quite OBVIOUS this guy is a CRIMINAL! The War On Drugs makes it mandatory that all large amounts of cash, carried by people, be siezed to hinder the drug trade.

You are right on brother. This is another federal scam, originally brought about to catch drug dealers, now used by police all over the country to bolster their local coffers.
To: D Joyce
Traveler's cheques are useless unless Schweppe signs them a second time, that's why.

I had to bail a friend out of Jail one night, she was 27 years old. Left her abusive husband and took her daughter with her. I gave her a firearm for her protection. Whe the illegal Cuban, who lived in the other apartment, threatened her once too often, she put the drop on her!!!!
When I went to bail her out for "brandishing", the fuzz wanted to know where I got the cash ($500.00), ATM I responded!
They nodded as if one should not have access to that type of cash!
I got almost all of it back when the CUBANO never showed in court due to warrants outstanding!
This apartment was in the hi-end district, 2 homes away from the "GEORGE EASTMAN INTERNATIONAL HOME OF PHOTOGRAPHY" in Rochester, NY.
True story

Wholesalers of everything from cars to airplane parts often deal in cash only. This is police terrorism emanating from the fed.
To: Wolfie
If there were no charges filed against the individual, he should report it to authorities as an armed robbery.

This happens every single day. RICO rules!
Once the ruling elite gets the latest travesty (Patriot Act) fully into place, they will be spared the inconvenience of having to wait till you leave home to confiscate your money. They will do it while they cruise the bank accounts of all peasants, plucking some here and plucking some there.

Only criminals and drug dealers carry such large amounts of cash. Obviously a statement from the government sponsored world of reality impairedness. I drove home three days ago with $17K cash in my pocket from selling a car. Good thing I didn't get stopped by (sic) law enforcement.

Whoa! I better stay out of Collinsville. I've got more than $13,290 in my pocket right now, just walkin' around money and stuff I want to buy in the day-after-Thanksgiving sales.

Whoa! I better stay out of Collinsville. That was the same advise a lawyer in Madison County gave my nephew "Stay out of Collinsville, boy". Unfortunately, it's not just Collinsville.
