Thanks for bumping this. I am amazed that more people haven't commented on this obvious slip-up by the Times editors!!

"I am amazed that more people haven't commented on this obvious slip-up by the Times editors!!" Do we comment when bears defecate in the woods?
Do we comment that the Pope is a Catholic?
Do we comment that the NYTimes Editorial Board is composed of leftist prevaricators?

The New York Times is a waste of newsprint and ink. "News" is opinion; "op-ed" is monosyllabic rant. When they fired A.M. Rosenthal, they lost their last shred of integrity. The only stimulating thing about the paper is the drawings of the Lord & Taylor women in their underwear on every other page of the "A" section.

Quite true. The important point I wanted to make about this is that they not only slant the news, THEY MAKE IT UP.
The first example that I busted them on was during the tax cut negotiations. The Times said that President Bush was going to cave, based on their "inside sources". Well, he didn't, he got exactly what he said he wanted, and Fred Barnes said that after reading the NYT's story he asked everyone he knew at the White House, and could find no one who thought that this was even close to the President's position. Ergo, they made it up.
Whenever they run stories with non-attributed sources, I believe they are just making things up to get all the other reporters to write spurious stories and generally stir the pot and attempt to cause division. In time of war, this borders on sedition, in my opinion.

""Sometimes even a blind squirrel finds a nut!"" I heard Rumsfeld say that in the speech he gave to the troops at Ft Bragg yesterday.
